Hi, im taking my test in a few months and would like a little help on what to buy. Ive been saving so have a bit of a kitty behind me to work with if set a limit of 7k british pounds on you guys. But thats kinda maxing my budget a little, im fairly new to the world of moding and cars in general, not a complete dick though, so a little explanation of most phrases would be appreciated.
Cheers in advance

First off how much can you spend for running costs. Second speed or looks? Answer this and we'll find something

Bit of both, would rather speed. Um running costs should be to much hassle as im on 20k a year and live at home for the time being so i ahve quite a bit spare but please stick to the 7k for initial costs. Cheers Dai

1996 BMW Z3

5 SPD MT

Private Party Sale
Base Model
$6375 or 3555 GBP
Then I'd spend the other half of your money on some nice but subtle upgrades, bavarian autosport has some great stuff, maybe a front and rear lip, maybe a nice small lip spoiler on t he rear or a small touring spoiler, i'd get some nice 17 inch wheels on that car($1500 wheels and tires,850 GBP), i suggest mille miglia F20's they're charcoal, like 20 spoke, my friend's sister has them on her z3 and they look great, maybe an AC Schnitzer shift nob, and hand brake, I'd lower it maybe 1 inch,
and there you go!!! a great looking and running bmw roadster for $12,000 or 7,000 GBP
I might also do a little engine stuff, maybe a cold air intake and air filter....

hate to say it (actuly i love it but hey) but you know very little bout the used car trade.
A. You can't look at prices in one country and compare them to another country just buy converting currancy
B. You must be looking at blue book or glass guid that gives AVERAGE prices meaning they count everything from wrecks to 0 miles cars.
C. Jags make great engines and bute bodies but everything attached to thems a piece of sh*t. I dont even know if they've stopped using Joseph Lucas (aka the prince of darkness) electrics. You have to study a car before you buy one and just seeing one in the beverly hill classifieds and think wow thats good value won't cut it.

i said marcos early steel body which rounds it down to 3 liter, 2 liter and 2.5 liter. And by refering to TVR Tuscan i am talking bout the original 289 powered grantura which was a in house copy of the griffith but of course i bet you knew all that didn't you?

if your talking about new cars, i'd try tvr.com or whatever their website is... i'm sure they have a 'build and price'

yeah, probably a Marcos would be a better choice since its cheap basically in every regard but if your focused on a Grffith just search your local goggle. A while ago i had a loot and found 2 or 3 at varrying prices
