Ferrari are winning approx every race. i thought maybe last year it would be different but, no neither Williams or McLaren could pull it off. Maybe soon a team will be able to manufacture a car to beat them. but soon the only future in F1 will be ferriari.

Last years competition was great, but this year it's gonna be even better.

Wow, I thought the new car was a "slight" improvement. 0.9 sec is ALOT on a track in F1.

ferrari aswell, my dad saw a new ferrari engine in the 2003 sauber car in some expo in malaysia (petronas towers) (they were just borrowing the new engine for show, they really use ferrari engines from two years ago)

What does this have to do with Renaults valve-less engine? And Sauber Petronas use ONE year old Ferrari engines.

OK! at the time sauber were using two year old engines I THINK. but whats important is they borrowed a NEW ferrari engine for show and the NEW ferrari engine had NO valves.

Well thats wrong, all the Ferrari engines used in F1 over the past few years HAD valves. You are getting confused with Renault.

there was valveless engine with a black horse in a sauber car, it might have been for show, who knows, the logical thing to assume is that it was a race moter. it had 2003 stamped on the side and it was stated that it was borrowed from ferrari. ok?

mallon
Apr 12, 2004, 4:07 AM
an F1 debate i hear? :D

Blu your wrong about sauber - they use exactly the same engine as ferrari i.e. today's engine today. Last season they used an older ferrari engine (from the F-2001)
They are not valveless as such - they have swapped springs for a pneumatic system, where a high pressure column of air which closes the valve. - but isnt particularly new technology, since it allows you to control the rate of opening/closing, since you change the rate a spring works at, it will just work at its resonant frequency.

I heard it too, but i also really doubt this. But Villeneuve has said that if someone calls for a testdrive, he will be ready. I think it would be good when villeneuve comes back. Especially for the non-schumi fans.

Ferrari is winning not only because they have the best driver in the world and the best car in the world...but also because they hired some of the best brains in the world...the strategies that they chose each race are what keep them winning...schumacher alone wouldnt be doing this good...they can also adapt instantly to sudden changes and mold their strategies to the situation at hand...bringing schumi from sixth place all the way to first without overtaking once is just plain genious...however it must be said its f***** boring to watch...very clever but very boring...
BTW...after schumi leaves in 2005...who would you like to see replace him?
and last question...how do i get a little picture thingy...i cant figure it out...thx

From what it looks like to me is that Ferrari was a sleeping Giant at one point. For a good amout of time they were doing poorly. Ferrari reminds me of the Chevy of Nascar. Except Ferrari got to the top the right way not the wrong way but that's a differnt issue. Another key element to Ferrari's sucess is Micheal. He knows how to tell them guys to set the cars up. I do think they can be caught up too. Do I think this season well maybe. Next season I think we could see Ferrari sitting a little uncomfortable.

!ChEeKy GiRl!
Mar 20, 2005, 5:33 AM
Maybe Renault can....? I mean Shumacher kept pretty quiet today and Barrichello couldn't control his car very well because of the tyres. its great for Alonso though, unfortuate for Fizzy though...

Looks like this thread should be renamed to "What stopped Ferrari?" seeing that Renault has cleaned house thus far...

nutty boy
Apr 07, 2005, 4:03 PM
Topic was created March 2nd 2004 mate that's why it's named that. But yeah now it's April 7th 2005 and it should be named that.

Schumi
Apr 07, 2005, 4:46 PM
The answer to this is really easy.
Firstly, Renault. They made very good tests and they deserve whatever they did.
Secondly, FIAT stopped give money to Ferrari for the winters tests(Now gives less than previous years). That's a big issue cause that showed how bad is the situation in the Group and how that became a reason into the circuit for bad results.
Thirdly, there are some luck terms. Especially in the first race when Ferrari's (IMO) were quick and the rain screwed everything.
Anyway, sure thing is that Ferrari is 6th now and someone or something made that happened.
Express your opinions that can be different from mine and are true.

!ChEeKy GiRl!
Apr 11, 2005, 4:38 AM
Ferrari are in need of better tyres and need to do more testing and bring the new car up to scratch.

Schumi
Apr 11, 2005, 8:18 AM
They did that this week and they will gonna kepp doing it every day with Bridgestones until Imola.
BTW, did you hear that both of Renaults were down in Barcelonas tests this week?
Alonso's engine broke and Fisichella had problems with brakes and with his engine as I remember well...

nutty boy
Apr 11, 2005, 3:03 PM
that's bad news
i was hoping of better things from renault.

Apr 11, 2005, 3:16 PM
Maybe they are testing different setups. That doesn't mean anything does it?

!ChEeKy GiRl!
Apr 12, 2005, 4:38 AM
yeah it does--Renault are trying to find the idea that will work best with each race.

Schumi
Apr 12, 2005, 8:21 AM
Thats not the reason.
At the end of last race Alonso said that Renault are really quick and they can win in all types of circuits because they can be quick in all types of circuits.
Anyway, we will see at Imola.

!ChEeKy GiRl!
Apr 12, 2005, 9:31 AM
