The 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans entry list has been announced. There will be 50 racecars competing for endurance glory. There are quite a few surprises though.
There is no Porsche RS Spyder in the LMP2 class and interestingly there will be no Leblanc Mirabeau even after the manufacturer promised that they would be racing their street-legal prototype sports car in Le Mans. It's a shame that there are no factory entries in the LMP1 class other than the Audi R10s. But expect things to get a lot spicier in 2007 when PEUGEOT enters their own diesel prototype in the LMP1 class in Le Mans

Few might be wondering why there is no Maserati MC12 in GT1 class. Its since the ACO doesn't allow it to race

Date's set. I'm spending the 17th and 18th of June at my uncle's house. Big LCD tv, surround sound, and fridge full of beer. ;)

I didnt realise they were still racing the Ferrari 550s.

The four I want to see:

Audi R10
Ferrari F430
Aston DBR9
Porsche GT3

This is going to be awesome

It's pretty much set in concrete that the R10 will romp it's competitors to win Le Mans.

Then expect a raft of ads from Audi promoting their diesel engines.

Does anybody know if we will be able to watch it here in Australia?

It's a given that Channel 10, 7, Nine & ABC will definely not be showing it - SBS, maybe???

But will Fox Sports?

I'd like to see the Spykers finish for once. I do give them credit for actually running, though. Does anyone have a list of the drivers?

Thanks.

Well, I know who I'll be rooting for. In LMP1 class, I really have no idea who I should support. Audi is going to win without a doubt unless they explode or something. I'm rooting for Intersport racing and Miracle motorsports for the LMP2 class. Of course, Corvette racing is just going to dominate in LMGT1. I'm not sure who I'm going to back for LMGT2. Panoz racing is goig to do great, but I also hope both Spyker squadrons do well. I'd also like to see White Lighting racing pull something off.

Either way, it should be a good race.

I thought ALMS strictly adhered to ACO rules. I thought the top 3 in class at Petit got a pre-qualify pass for LeMans. Where are the Porsches in LMP2?

Hopefully I can get myself into these LeMans races. I'd most likely would root for the Corvettes.

The Spyders didn't win Petit... they didn't even compete in the race. They were supposed to, but Porsche pulled them a few weeks before the race, they made their debut at Laguna Seca.

Rumors have it that Porsche didn't want the Spyders at LeMans this year either to begin with. Which is weird I don't know why they wouldn't, especially with the manufacturer being Porsche.

Dyson Racing is collaborating with Howard-Boss Motorsports for 6 Grand Am races this season. The second Howard-Boss entered Pontiac Crawford, #16 in Thetford/Norcold livery, finished 14th at the Daytona 24 and 7th at Miami/Homestead. They are scheduled to race at VIR 4/23, Watkins Glen 6/3, Daytona 6/29, and the Glen 8/11.

Although Dyson fielded a new Lola/AER at Sebring; ALMS posts no advance entry lists, so I don't know what the teams plans are in ALMS.

Perhaps collaborating in GA is enough to get Dyson "uninvited" to LeMans?
