A few times, not only top fuelers but I attend the 4,6 and rotary competitions as well. I prefer seeing street legal cars race at the strip because there times are harder to predict and shows the amount of money and effort put in to the car.

For watching I think circut racing is more intrasting.

I love to go to Englishtown to watch drag racing. The sound is amazing. Where else are you going to have an uncorked big block roll right next to you? It's more of a guessing game, too. When you watch circut racing, you can usually tell who has the upper hand. When you watch drag racing, it's a crap shoot.
It's good times, but I hate watching it on TV.

I've been going to Drag draces since I was rolling around in diapers and I started racing myself when I was 14. It's an amazing sport. The 2 Top Fuel classes are the funnest to watch. My dad used to build Nitro engines back in the 80's. Pro Gas and Pro Comp are the fun ones. They both use throttle stops and the cars are usually seperated by tenths of a second, sometimes thousandths! And nowhere else will you find 8000 horsepower cars going 0-350 in 4.4 seconds. Where's your Veyron now!?!? LOL

I have seen Top Fuel drag races years ago, like when I was six years old. I didn't like it then, probably had earplugs in too.
Travelling 400m in around 5 seconds is cool and all but I find what I think most of the dragways here call 'Test 'N' Tune' far more exciting.
You get to see cars built by anybody really and then see 'em drive away. It's their own streetable cars and some are pretty damn quick.
I'll usually go to Willowbank Test 'N' Tunes with my brother. Also, just a few nights ago my parent's good friends had come over for dinner, he has a stock Chevrolet Corvette C4 convertible. He took it to Willobank the night before and ran a best of 14.2 I'm not sure what his trap speed was though. Is that what a stock C4 convertible should be round?

14.2's a decent time for a convertible Vette. It's an automatic huh?

Pro Stock is the best... the cars are identical, down to the hp to weight rations

hey Parko....T&Ts are done before you start the grid. You are running mock races for the purpose of tuning your car, for the races. It is basically just practice passes.
I go to a lot of drag races.I like the cars, and I get to visit with old friends

...
In addition, many tracks have T & T on certain days/nights each week without any racing. I think they are more interesting than pro racing because you can see most anything!

there is NOTHING else on planet earth that gives you the sensation and the rush like experiencing one of John Force's finest. to hear the deafening roar as the machine rips down the strip....i can't even put into words...it leaves the earth shaking heart trembling.

If I'd go watch dragracing here, it would be full with asian cars like STi's, EVO's, tuned Civic's etc. Not really my kind of cars, so I never been to a dragrace.

Yeah, that sure is a neat thing to say. Just like I can go, OH MAN, one time in my sisters Ford Escort, I took a turn...WHERE'S YOUR DRAG RACER NOW!?!?LOL. See, I wouldn't say that though, because that would just be stupid to compare something so outragously different, such a RACE CAR that only goes FORWARD, to a street legal super car that still makes 1001 horsepower and can go around a track faster then almost all production cars out there today. So you go have fun going in a line. Look out for that second turn in the track though...oh wait, you'll never make it that far in a dragster, sorry.

It was ment to be a joke. That would explain the "LOL"
I am intrastend in seeing some pro races. But I won't be doing that in this ***** of a country.
Maybe Sweden or Germany.

i go about 1 every 3 mnths... but to normal street driven cars.. n there r sumtimes that there are "real" race cars... the fastest ive seen a car run the quarter is a white skyline.. a twin turbo R33.. road driven.. ran it in 10.88... and it sounded like no ordinary turbo.. this one was absolutely manic.. ussually b4 they race the fry the tires abit.. while it was burning rubber.. it didnt look or sound fast.. but down the strip he absoluetly killed a V8 holden.. LoL...

Drag racing's nuts, but as a few have said, I prefer to see the street cars and bikes battle it out. Because my dad and cousins are all bike-nuts they're down there religiously, trying to show whose is better. GSXR 750 vs Ducatti 748, GSXR wins every time. Some of my more car-centric friends take their V8s down and go crazy, which is always fun to see.
The other week I saw a guy with a stroked VK Commodore SS beating a supercharged Monaro CV8. No japanese 4-bangers down there - they rock up and flash their neons but they never try against the V8s because they know they'll lose. I've seen 180sx's with 100k worth of kit hanging off them, ralliart lancers, skylines, etc try their absolute hardest, but they never have a chance.
Hell, my obsession with Ferrari started when I saw a Testarossa strip the pants off of an old Clubsport. It was like watching your old childhood hero; the invincible, the immortal image of what you think perfection should be, suddenly getting raped up the a$$ by some undescribably menacing newcomer that would soon become the new object of your affection.
But as a rule, HSVs own Kwinana.

Been a few times. Fastest street legal car was running 9 secs! Flying down the track. The entire ground shook when he was in the burnout box.
