Well, you can only guess who will be faster around the 'Ring, because they havent driven there in recent history(has there ever been a champ car around the nordschleife?)

But you can compare times from Montreal, because both F1 and Champcar race there.
Last year the pole in the Champcar was for Bourdais in 1:20.396
Last year the pole in the F1 was for Button in 1:15.217

So you could say F1 is faster, and they probably still are with the V8 engines. They are slower, but not 5 seconds slower.

F1 cars would be faster around the Nürburgring. They have better aerodynamics/downforce so they would be faster in every corner.

the nurburgring nord*bla bla*...the 20 km one is too uneven n bumpy for f1 cars...i hope ur not talking bout that one.

Yeah... Alright. The F1 cars are too low. The champcars would be the only ones there actually can drive on the Nordschleife - but only in Oval track setup, which would be the sausage of death, and they would be slower than street legal supercars such as Carrera GT, Enzo, Zonda etc because... hell I don't know why. It would just be wrong.

Tom, are u ok? A CC beated by a street car? Champ cars would win in that track as run as they are. For an Actual F1 car to run there they have to re-engineer the whole Suspencion and change the material to titanium or something not Carbon based. but lets say they could run well the F1 will beat it by close to a minute.

what is the difference? they look like the same car, are you sure champ isnt another word for F1?

F1 and ChampCars are not the same thing. ChampCar is an AMERICAN series and F1 is INTERNATIONAL but mostly European

judging on technological research and expences...f1 wins by a long shot.

F1 dominates everythign thats why its FORMULA 1

In the early '70's; Dan Gurney bet $100,000 that his Eagle Indy car could lap the Nordshliefe(sp?) faster than any F1 car. The bet stood for several years. There was lots of noisy opinion in motor press, but no takers.

When is the last time a then current F1 car lapped Nurburgring?

When did a Champ Car lap Nurburgring (if ever)?

An F1 car should lap the Nordschleife in low 5 min range

Does anyone know the specs, that would tell us alot. I've wondered myself, which is faster. I think F1 is faster judging by how much engineering goes into one. The thing is i dont know much about champcar...so they could be equaly engineered(but i havent the slightest clue)

F1 cars are more powerful, lighter, and don't have PTP (Push to Pass) installed.

Truckload of ignorance dumped here.

A turbocharged CART Champ Car still has full ground-effects tunnels. This means huge downforce with way less drag than a current flat bottom F1 car with all the crapola hanging out/stuck up into the wind!

CART cars are limited (by boost) to around 750 HP, but weigh 200 lbs. more than F1 cars.

Nurburgring long? F1 (10x money/100x viewers) doesn't want to bring their precision knife to a gunfight and risk losing face. A CART car would smoke an F1 car at the Nordschliefe with its superior downforce. Sue me while you cry.

Dailup power is nothing new... Trade mileage for power.

Lets all hit up GT4 and see what we can get with the F1 car. lol
Unfortunately, I don't have it right now so I can't do it.:(
