Does he live in Monaco? I vaguely remember seeing a "how F1 drivers train" with Button in the hills of Monaco in the ITV build up.

Lol, he looks like he was seriously high when he thought of that. So thats his new tactic, he's planning to either blind people with his bright suit or make them laugh uncontrollably so that they can't drive and he can win. Simple and genius

wtf, he puts full lock and then straightens out and then puts full lock again. Looks on purpose but we don't know what the car was doing, maybe the back was stepping out and needed correction?

What a stupid decition, why did he decided to do that? Now he is gonna start form the last place on the grid, without that stupid manouver he could have started 1st anyway or at least 2nd and have more chances to win the race....what a waste. I hope I'm worng, but Ferrari will be lucky if manage to put both cars on the points.

About his overalls...

Q: Michael, different overalls here, perhaps lucky overalls, first time on the pole since 2000.
MS: Yeah, well, history is really not important. You have to live in the present and the new overalls was a very nice design by Philip Morris. We had this idea in Madonna di Campiglio already and we both liked the idea and thought Monte Carlo is a special occasion where we could put some colour into it and we were happy to use it. So let’s see and hope it can be lucky tomorrow, that’s more important.

He's not just adding colour to MonteCarlo but he's making a fool out of himself.

I reckon the incident was on purpose. He straightened the car before turning again. There was no why he couldnt have made that turn. Thats just my opinion. But making him go all the way down to last is a bit over though.

Only 10hrs and 40mins till it starts. Too bad i dont have live so I'll have to wait till 12 to watch it.

Schumacher is stripped of pole

28 May 2006

Michael Schumacher has been moved to the back of the grid for the Monaco Grand Prix after stewards concluded that he deliberately blocked the track in the closing stages of qualifying, preventing rivals from beating his time.

The decision - which came eight hours later - means Renault’s Fernando Alonso will now start from pole position with the Williams of Mark Webber alongside him. Schumacher is demoted to the back row, where he will join Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa, who crashed out of qualifying without setting a time.

Schumacher appeared to lock his brakes and then run wide as he entered the final Rascasse corner in the dying moments of the session. The former champion regained control without hitting the barriers, but came to a halt with his stalled car partially blocking the circuit, forcing other drivers to slow down.

Following the session, the stewards heard evidence concerning the incident from Schumacher - who claimed it was a genuine error - as well as Ferrari personnel. They also reviewed video footage and data evidence supplied by the team and the FIA.

Their finding was that Schumacher had no justifiable reason for braking so hard, as he had been traveling little or no quicker than at the same point on previous laps. They therefore concluded that he deliberately stopped his car on the circuit, an infringement of the sporting regulations.

As punishment the stewards deleted all of Schumacher’s qualifying times, hence his move to the back of the grid, from where he has little or no chance of taking a record-equaling sixth Monaco Grand Prix win.

Ferrari’s Jean Todt expressed the team's displeasure at the stewards' findings, saying: “We totally disagree with it. Such a decision creates a very serious precedent, ruling out the possibility of driver error. Michael was on his final timed lap and he was trying to put his first place beyond doubt, as could be seen from the fact that his first split time was the best and could have seen him do another very good lap. With no real evidence, the stewards have assumed he is guilty."

The FIA will publish the grid in full as usual on Sunday morning.

And that my friends, is probably the end of the F1 season. :(

That does it. We already know who the winner is now. I'm only going to watch the beginning.

Whoa...the Renault's are killing competition....whoa..whoa..whoa
no way!...Who spoilt competition for about 3 years..Ferrari! Who spoilt his own chances at Monaco..Shumacher...the Renaults haven't done anything..they are out their to WIN.
How are the Renaults killing competition? Someone has to win who's out their and if Shumi goes and does that then what do you expect....?
The Renault's to say..no it's okay..he can have pole anyway!

*Edit*
If anything they are making competition!
Who fought back against the Ferrari's last year and this? Renault..
People who cheat spoil the competition because they think they can't win without helping themselves..that shows Shumacher is pretty threatened by Renault. If he feels he now has to cheat to win..
Don't you think?

Although I hate it, I have to agree with Cheeky girl. It's Schumi's own fault. If it shows in the telemetry that he didn't do anything different in that lap driving towards Rascasse, then he did it on purpose, and he should have known that he would be punished.

Just one little thing, Ferrari never spoiled the competition. The years Ferrari were on the top they were the fastest, thats not their fault.

In ~30 minutes the race starts, and I can only hope for Alonso to fail to finish so that the fight will go on.

It's technology that spoiled the competition. If it weren't for all the knobs on his steering wheel, he'd be getting whipped by Raikkonen and Alonso from dawn till dusk.

I've heard old Nige say it a few times - Schumacher makes more mistakes per race than any other champion in previous history, but he gets away with it thanks to technology. And that goes for the other drivers, too. Alonso's good, but how much of it is the doing of the Renault engineers?

Grrrrr! Cable was out last night; just found out CBS will do their lousy delayed coverage (hear that, Mopar?) at 12:30P today. I wanted to watch live.

The new suit says "It's all about ME!" The screwy move says he can't take losing. Wonder if Schumi and Jeff Gordon have met?

Ravenous, does ole Nige still reside in Lakeland FL?

So what happened to Kimi Raikkonen? Technical failure, again?

CarRocker
May 29, 2006, 5:44 PM
Kimi Raikkonen, McLaren (DNF):
"Things just didn't go my way today. Our strategy would probably have meant that I would have been able to take the lead after the second series of pitstops, but we really lost out when the Safety Car came out. Then there was a small fire caused by a heat shield which damaged a wiring loom and that was the end of the race for me. It's always disappointing to retire both for me and the team, but it's particularly hard when you all know that you are in with a good chance to win. However we have made progress, and the car was really competitive today, and we aim to do well at Silverstone."

So yeah, a technical failure once again

It's really a shame that such a great driver has all these reliability issues. It could be driver influenced but hopefully if he moves to Ferrari he won't have such problems

Keke Rosberg was called the "Flying Finn" when he was winning; the "Flailing Finn" when he wasn't.Isn't it funny that in the mid seventies two Formula Atlantic drivers by the name of Gilles Villeneuve and Keke Rosberg were having terrific battles on the track and now, THIRTY years later Jacques Villeneuve and Nico Rosberg, their sons, are battling in F1 !!!!!
