So it was the Gran Prix this week-end in Monaco, which means that there was not only Formula 1 cars racing around the track, but also F3, Formule Reanult, GP2 Series and Porsche GT3's...

Now one of the Porsche's had an accident and dumped the front bumper of it in the rubbish bins. I thought it was quite special so I took it, and put it in my dad's office. So i've now ended up with the front (damaged) bumper of a Porsche 911 997 GT3 Racecar, which i'm quite happy about.

Is this kind of thing "special" or am i on about a load of crap ??? Do you think i should try selling it (if anybody would want it...) on eBay ?? Or keep for myself in my room.
I think i'm gonna keep it, unless it's worth a lot.

Anyway, i haven't got a pic of the bumper itself yet, but here is the car (not yet damaged):

PS:
- I will post pics of the bumper itself if anyone wants...
- Sorry if this is really boring ... :o

thats retty cool, i doubt it wil be worth much tho, i once heard of a f1 accident where the staff cleanin the track were handing pieces of the car to the spectators and there was loads of kick off about it because the teams try to keep everything secret apparently:|

I wouldn't think it'd be worth that much. Just keep it. If someone wanted to buy one, they'd get a new one if that was worth a lot surely.

My friend also has a part of a Porsche GT3 Cupcar(996), thought it was the front splitter.
It's easier to get those parts, because every car is the same in the championship.
I once tried to get a part of Tomczyk's car when he crashed, but they cleaned up every single piece!
BTW, is the car on your pics the same as the one crashed? Because that's a Dutch guy, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen.

keep it. I remember one episode of 5th gear when one of the frontmen(the most hairy infact) bought on one Ferrari auction the Michael Schumacher's F1 seat (maybe from some Ferrari's car, not Benneton's) for just 3-4 or 5000 $ of euro, don't remember well. So u won't get so so much of yours, i'd keep it.

Keep it! It's a genuine racing artifact.

A member of our camp crew once drove a golf cart into the paddock at Rd ATL at night, wearing an SCCA National Championship Jacket (earned), and swiped a used practice/qual front tire (Pirelli) from the Momo Ferrari (333SP) team.

It was our camp's conversation piece for 2 years.

Yeah that's him. But the car isn't yet damaged on those photos... I think he must of had an accident during the race or something...

I'd say try and make something useful out of it.
Part of a table, couch, idunnowhat.... maybe even an ashtray.

Or nail it against the wall or place it in a corner untill you had enough of it.

Yeah, somebody crashed into him, causing him to go off the track.

Years ago I watched a TV NASCAR race from Talladega or Daytona (2 longest tracks). A back straight accident caused the hood on the late Davey Allison's black #28 Havoline Ford to fly off. It sailed over the fencing and landed edgewise on a spectator's legs. At least moderately injured; he was taken from the stands in a fireman's carry. If he was a REAL race fan; he was probably screaming, "that's MY hood!"

best thing to do is to keep the bumper.....it's a once in a lifetime thing to keep
then again, you could sell it for quite a bunch of bucks
people will buy anything, one goon bought a HB pencil on eBay for £60 the other month:):)

keep it, treasure it
doubt youll ever find anything like that again
then again, you could sell it on eBay
some goons will pay a million quid for that
someone bought a pencil on eBay for £6 or something absolutely absurd like that:):)
