Does anyone else follow the world rally championships? I happen to be a Citreon fan. Loeb is just a great driver but i haven't been watching all the races. If someone could bring me up to date or start some prediction about the Driver and Make champions by all means go for it.

Hi, I'm Rally Crazy! I go to 2 WRC's every year, one international and the Rally GB.
I am a huge Subaru Impreza fan, and will support whoever drives for them [2003 WRC CHAMPIONS!!!]
I have 2 great websites for info:
www.wrc.com (official)
and for videos from the UK terrestrial TV channel (ITV this year or C4 in 2003) of the latest rallies, go to www.ukf1.net and click on Rally Vids in the left hand column.
I also have my website (http://geocities.com/subarukid37)which just gives the finishing positions and overall standings after each rally.
You may also like The Citoroen Sport (WRC) Site (http://com.en.sport.citroen.com/CitroenSport/Com_en/CitroensportHomeCom_EN.htm?Language=COM-EN)

On the Subject of WRC, does anyone know of / have any video footage (mpeg/wmv etc) of the new Lancer EVO8.5 WRC? as it is very difficult to find, and the TV coverage only showed the car twice, both times for about second and a bit!

Imprezas are great, Solberg's skill and the capablity of the car give Subaru shot at future manufactures titles

I love rally, it's really guys. What do you guys think of the new Peugeot 307 WRC? Will it win races this year or not. I think it's a great car, and Grönholm is a great driver

The Japanese Rally is 3rd - 5th of September --- 2004 WRC Calendar (http://www.geocities.com/subarukid37/2004wrc.html)
The Peugeot 307CC WRC car has the potential, but as with all new cars, it has its problems! : Sweden (http://www.bothwellphoto.com/peug04WRCswedenTN7.jpg), Mexico (http://www.bothwellphoto.com/peug04WRCmexicoTN2.jpg)
If you want very High Quality images from all the rallies so far (and other years & types of motorsport) go to http://www.bothwellphoto.com/peugeotsportuk.htm
This year I think that Loeb in the Citroen (http://com.en.sport.citroen.com/CitroenSport/Com_en/CitroensportHomeCom_EN.htm?Language=COM-EN) will win, with Subaru (http://www.swrt.com/) close behind and Ford (http://www.fordrallyesport.com/index2.asp), then Peugeot (http://www.peugeot-avenue.com/index.asp?num_page=320&langue=en), some Privateers and then Mitsubishi (http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/motorsports/e/04wrc/index.html)! But its really too early in the year to decide!
With both Ford & Citroen releasing 2004 spec cars, things couls change - less reliable or better, I can't wait to see!

I watch wrc every time i get to. I like it very much, maybe as much as i like etcc, and i'm a fan of ford. Marko Martin is a very good pilot, he looks terrible so i don't quite like his fizics but i like very much how he speaks (swearing and shouting every time he gets  ) and the way he is. Anyway i support ford all the way no matter whos driving. IMO it's the best looking car out of all...to bad street focus doesn't have an option for awd. The ST should have an option for awd. I think it's quite hard to convert a fwd in an awd. How can you do it?

I love the WRC. I think it takes so much skill. Those driver rival the skill of formula 1 drivers. And they best out of all these is Colin McRae. He may not get first everytime, but he's pretty consistant. And unlike most drivers, he's very calm when he drives. He's just a natural. I blame his car for his poor performance last year. He should be with ford or subaru.

Yes, calm, cool, and collected drivers are great fun to watch. But then again so are the tense or emotional drivers. All in good fun. How about Markko Martins crash last year. That was insane and he was back in the next rally. I dont peticularly like the Focus rally car, but Martin gets my respect for that.

Rallying is fun to watch i kno the US dosent have thr WRC but we have the scca pro rallies. The team and driver to beat this year are citroen with Sebastian Loeb. They have the best car so far and Loeb is simply driving amazing this year with his only mistake coming in the Corona Rally Mexico. Solberg is my pick for second place i dont think he will repeat b/c he has made some crucial mistakes when he was in a good position. Example Monte Carlo driving too fast hits a rock. The most dissapointing team to me is Mitsubishi. They take a year off and they are getting beat by some of the N4 guys . I feel bad for Pannizzi he desrves a much better drive. But what do i kno there is still a ton of rallies to go

New cars like the 307 and new EVO are always accompanied by problems. But once these are set aside i think both cars will do very well for themselves.

although the evo is a great car it doesn't have the drivers to make an impact, the 307 at least has gronholm

the lancer wrc car is not an evo as some people think Mitsubishi based it off the regular lancer not the evo just to let you know and in my opinion its a horrible car i mean it breaks down on every rally and its not competitve. At least the 307 dosent lose to the N4 cars  . I don't know what it is but I just don't like the car i mean why not base it on the evo platform it would have probably done better than what this lancer has done

That is true, except in the UK where the rally cars are hand built, you can't buy a Lancer (unless special order), so for homologation reasons, they call the EVO a Lancer Evo, that way they can rally the Lancer, and sell the EVO as a road rally car!
The Evo 6 Rally Car was based more on the Carisma (big hint: in pics, look at back of car on the side, and it has Carisma written) than the current Lancer, which causes some problems when they called it a Lancer Evo!

Are you kidding me??  Ford is beating Citreon? How did this happen. Markko Martin is good but I never suspected this:
Drivers:
Loeb 20pts
Martin 20pts
Makes:
Ford 40pts
Citreon 30pts
Peugeot 21pts

If i'm correct Loeb crashed the last rally, and Martin won. So that would be the reason

Loeb broke his Oil sump on a rock mid-stage and retired on a road section. Ford's M-Sport took a 1-2 on their 100th WRC appearance as the official works team. So both Markko Martin & Francois Duval got lots of points for Ford.
This is the new Ford Focus WRC04 being released at the New Zealand WRC:

Looks kinda the same, but there are noticable changes, mainly in the bumpers and rear wheel arches. Frontal aerodynamics look different too!

hehehe, thanks!
Rallying to me is like football to others - I love it! I follow it very closely and I hope to get involved in Rallying when I leave school! So I must build up a knowledge as best as possible!
btw - I don't know that much about the Citroen WRC team, mainly because the website is not very up to date and they don't announce very much!
