I almost cried after watching these videos, IMO he was the greatest driver, I loved his one handed drving style on a rally.

You know, I'd be liar if I said I knew he was a great driver. I don't follow WRC too closely. But I do know that he was one of the most down to earth, humble drivers in recent history. I mean, when I think of a WRC driver, I think of a snobby Frenchman or a brat from the Netherlands. But he was from a different cut. He was one of the last gentleman drivers, and it's a terrible shame he's gone. The fact that he was a family man made the loss even worse.

Yeah Richard Burns did seem to be a good friendly person as well as competitive and shame that he passed away.
Thinkin about rally deaths i keep feeling sorry for Markko Martin - his
crash only killed his co-driver whilst he left unhurt.
If something like that happened i don;t think i could ever do rally again.
But here is a clip of one of his crazy corner-takings-

What made it worse was that richard died 4 years the day that he won the WRC title, and is death was over shadowed by george bests, which was on the same day

Richard Burns was a great Rally driver. It's a terrible thing that he passed away to the whole motorsports community.
Did anyone see the Top Gear tribute to him?

I'm part of a team that competes in group d in Australia.
S.D.R. ...Smoking Donkey Rallying.
The name? Terry Hellier , the driver is building a website called Smokingdonkey (random yes) so the name just came over to the team.
Basically I check all the safety equipment , clean the car and provide hauler maintenance.
One day I will have my own car but for now i'm just happy to be a part of the sport.
