View Full Version : Anyone ever heard of cryogenicly freezing engine parts?

It's supposed to be stronger than buying forged parts, and a lot cheeper.

The theory behind it is similar to how they treat gun barrels....

If you heat up metal (for manufacturing) , and let it cool naturaly, the metal looses quite a bit of strength....

But by cryogeniclly freezing parts, it makes the metal super strong....
I am considering doing this with my next performance engine/transmission....

The differantial on my Strage 12-bolt had it done.

I don't know what the exact cost of just that was, the whole rear end was about $2200.
