Have not heard anything. It was dominated by the Monaro anyway, I have seen some great footage of night racing there.

V8 supercars have the Supercheap auto Bathurst 1000, basically a 161 lap 1000km race usually lasts about 6-7 hours depending on safety car periods.
Several classes of vehicles some Lemans inspired through to production performance cars. Not sure of the rules for each class though sorry. Maybe Wes may know.
Incidently the Monaros that won every year were powered by a tuned C5R motor, mated to a supercar gearbox and pretty much everything else was V8supercar spec excluding the Monaro shell. Which is pretty much a commodore anyway.

That track looks really good...just the kind of place you need a 24 hour race..

Yeah, it's perfect, look at the track, it's got everything, straights, twisty sections, technical sections, must require a lot og driving skill, in many respects it's the perfect racetrack.
For an extended period of time it must be very challenging to keep concentration over all of those laps.
There's loads and laods of spaces for people to spectate, there's massive pit and paddock ares, it's a great racetrack IMO.

From what I have seen on Toca Race driver the complex coming down the mountain (the dipper and esses complex) must be terrifing to drive down full bore in a race car. Add it to the F1 calender now, thats right Mosley and Ecclestone, you heard!

Not the fastest thing to go round the mountain, but definitely a great piece of driving.
