It's the biggie this weekend, Schumacher aiming to cut Alono's 12 point lead in the championship and to maybe take the lead in the Constructors Championship aswell, because the Ferrari's straight line speed will give them the definite upper hand on Monza's long straights in the Royal Park.

What? You're going to Donington?
That's not fair?!?!! I wanna go!
Vettel, he's done his Friday job now so that leaves four drivers, I reckon Button could put in a strong performance, the engine blows are just putting Button in the grey but I think he's gonna do a good job this weekend, Honda said they were feeling optomistic, but Alonso's got a heck of a lot of work to do.
I reckon Schumacher for the win.

Sep 09, 2006, 1:06 PM
Races with Kimi at the front are always exciting, I hope tomorrow his car doesn't let him down or he doesn't make any silly mistakes like he did in Turkey, because he's in a good position to get a good result.

Sep 09, 2006, 1:13 PM
i love Monza circuit , i know every corner and every straight line in it , (not only Monza), anyway tomorrow the picture of the new champion will be more clear , Michael will fight and Alonso will fight , so it must be a very good race , at the start i think Alonso will improve his position coz Renault always has a good start , so it should be a good race from the beginning ....
bennyboy
Sep 09, 2006, 1:32 PM
The Renault's do get good starts, but it's not necessarily the start, they start like anybody else but once the engine's running, it absolutely flies off like a rocket, that's why you see them dragging people down to the main straight.
It's going to be a cracker of a race because Schumacher's going to announce his future and everything about drivers and all the speculation will all come together.
!ChEeKy GiRl!
Sep 09, 2006, 3:06 PM
^^ Yeah, the Renault's just FLY!! :p
I really hope there's competition between A & S :p
bennyboy
Sep 09, 2006, 3:09 PM
I mean, if Renault actually do have a big fuel load for tomorrow's race, then Alonso starting fifth is actually a good position to be in. I reckon by the first corner he can drag Heidfeld and take third position, and when his car starts to get lighter and lighter and lighter he can hunt down Schumacher and Raikkonen so tomorrow is shaping up to be a cracking race.
By the way: Schumacher - should he stay or should he go?
!ChEeKy GiRl!

Lol, I knew you were going to say that!
I'm an Alonso fan aswell, I didn't see him hold up Massa, but the stewards have got a job to do, and, well, it's only fair.
And yes, hopefully this will make Schumacher stay because I really want to see him stay, and hopefully this will make the championship go down to the wire:)
That will be good, but no good for you Cheeky! lol

Sep 09, 2006, 5:15 PM
^^ It's not good enough, or fair :(
Alonso was probably made to slow down because of the problems he had...
He wouldn't knowingly cheat unlike some..
bennyboy
Sep 09, 2006, 5:19 PM
Yeah, I agree, Alonso is the last person earth to cheat, but he has had his little flings in the past, in the Hungary GP practice with Robert Doornbos, flipping him off and brake testing him, I think he was under pressure a bit, but tomorrow he's got to be as cool as a cucumber because a DNF could be on the cars and he wouldn't want that!
Yeah, he did have problems, but if he was very slow he would have been off the racing line, but maybe he wasn't as slow as to go off the racing line.
!ChEeKy GiRl!
Sep 09, 2006, 5:25 PM
^^ Alonso is one cool customer, he should be OK, he should get it up too 5th at least, come on Alonsi:p
bennyboy
Sep 09, 2006, 5:33 PM
Yep, if he's a cool customer and doesn't make any irrational mistakes he could get up to 5th, or maybe even a podium, but if he finished fifth and Schumacher finishes first that would give Schumacher 10 points to Alonso's 4, difference of six points, six point margin going into China, but you never know, it could be closer than that.

Has Kimi gone to Ferrari for definate now? If so how did manage to miss that news I have no idea. Tomorrows race looks like it could turns out to be a very good one although I think there maybe more column inches written about Schumachers announcement than the result itself. I would really like Alonso to win, he needs too to take the heat off himself, Schumacher is very close points wise.

Well first off I totally hate alonso, and I love schumi. Secondly, as much as it pains me to say this, but I think alonso will be 5th......by the end of the first lap, and will be challengin schumi and massa for the win, sadly kimi will have mechanical trouble as usual, and the race will be the engraving of the championship for alonso, schumis too far out.
By the way here is the pic after qualifying. What each other is thinking.
Schumi-....you had to beat me...you just had to beat me by .002 seconds....you son of a.......damn it. Next year buddy...you just wait....when you are my teammate...pass me.....i don't think so.

Cheeky you need to get your facts straight, even if ferrari "cheated", which is the most ludacris statement i have ever heard of, Alonso BLEW UP. Wether he started 1st or 22nd he BLEW UP. Makes no diffrence. So Ferrari cheating has nothing to do with him no recieving any points.
Ferrari not true winners:confused:.......:| ......yeah.....riiight.
bennyboy
Sep 10, 2006, 3:22 PM
I think she was referring to Alonso being penalised for holding up Massa.
Again, this is a false statement because Ferrari appealed to the stewards, and the stewards penalised Alonso. Ferrari didn't cheat, they had a right to appeal, and they used that right to get a result.
!ChEeKy GiRl!
Sep 10, 2006, 4:12 PM
^^ Yeah, whatever, they will do anything to see Ferrari win
Anyway, Clutch, it doens't matter that Alonso blew up, at the end of the day, he shouldn't of started where he did, in my opinion, anyway. I saw Massa's 'evidence', not that there was any...
Anyway, next year should be fabulous, everything to play for :)
Michael Schumacher, Ferrari (1st):
“A marvellous win in front of our fans. Being on the podium alongside Jean was an indescribable feeling. From up there, we could see a sea of fans and you could feel the love they have for Ferrari. Super! If I had had to talk about my decision at that moment, I would not have managed to get the words out of my mouth….The race was relatively straightforward. We were hoping that Kimi would pit before us and he did. Everything went according to plan with no particular worries. The most emotional moment was the final lap. After the chequered flag I came on the radio and told all my friends in the team what I was about to announce and it was really difficult to keep my emotions under control. This win is very important in terms of both titles. We have taken the lead in the Constructors’ and as for the Drivers’, we are no longer dependent on our rivals’ performance.”
Ut-uh, no you haven't :@
Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber (3rd):
“Before the race some guys from the team came to me and told me they would like to see me on the podium, I thought it was a joke and now we are here. This time we knew we had good tyres, not only for qualifying but also for the race, unlike in Istanbul. When we got easily into qualifying three we also knew we had quite a consistent car for the race. I had a good start, but unfortunately locked the front wheels in the first corner, had flat spots and the first stint was quite difficult as I had a vibration. It was always a tough race as I had to fight with Massa and Alonso. Lapping the guys did not help as I was the first one of the group to lap them and I always lost one second. I came out of the second pit stop side by side with Alonso. Then his engine blew up and it was really risky as there was oil, Massa went off and I think had a puncture. The end of the race was quite easy for me and I just had to bring the car home. I now have the first podium of my life in Formula One. I want to thank the team for giving me this opportunity. We all are very, very proud
How cute :)
Fernando Alonso, Renault (DNF):
“There is not too much to say on a day like this. When you start from tenth, you have to push everything to the limit - yourself, the car, the tyres and the engine. I was going to easily finish on the podium today, and we showed that without the penalty, the car had the pace to fight for the victory. Michelin have shown a great response with the tyres for this race, and I am not worried about the title. We have three rounds to go, and we will be getting stronger and stronger with new developments for the car, the tyres and the engine. But the verdict on this weekend is simple: the race was decided off the track on Saturday afternoon.”
He's right, of course
bennyboy
Sep 10, 2006, 4:46 PM
They have taken the lead in the Constructors.
And the stewards were being gay, there was nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with what Alonso did, Max Mosley is living up to his reputation as a total f*ckface by saying that he did impede Massa which he obviously did not, even though this championship is going down to the wire the treatment Alonso is getting is ridiculous. He didn't hold up Massa and Mosley is squeezing all of the juice out of Renault to make it even more unfair to them right now.
As for next year, it is all to play for, if Honda get it right, like they nearly did at the start of last season, what about Button for World Champ?;)

He didn't mean he had taken the lead of the Driver's he meant in the Drivers championship he was no longer dependent on his rival's performances.
And it was totally unfair, everyone agrees it was bollocks, Mosley said that they have data, I say WE HAVE EYES.
Human witness accounts is much better than digits babbling on a computer screen, he was nowhere near him, three tenths of a second my arse, three tenths of a tenth of a second more like it.
