Prodrive, owned by David Richards will be the next team to join the pinnacle in motorsport. But who will power them? Since Prodrive is joint with Aston Martin in endurance racing, could this mean that Aston Martin would make F1 engines? If you have any opinions or info please post

this wasnt something new. when he sold the shares of BAR(PRODRIVE)
and were he was "kicked"( i say he was) from Honda, he said he will return to F1. so it was a matter of time.... about the engines. i doubt Aston would do something. Before that they will sell them Cosworth engines....

nice to hear prodrive is in.....it would be sick if they made an awd f1 car if that was possible or give them any edge.

Like JoeProte said, impossible. Why? Because FIA regulations state that only 2 wheels may be driven.

And it's not going to be front wheel drive...
I reckon that Prodrive are going to have a tough time in F1.
In their first season, I reckon they won't challenge Super Aguri, I reckn they'll be a second off the pace of them.

^ Sadly I have to agree with you there. As much as I'd love to see Prodrive do very well but it takes an extreme amount of development and experience to do well in F1 and there are 2 ways of doing that. Being around for a while or bringing in people from other teams and I haven't heard if Prodrive have bought any people in or not.

not possible. believe me.......
well.. it is possible, but the cars would be nowhere near as efficient as they are now... they would be much heavier and have a much smaller ground clearance; the driveshaft would mean the cockpit would have to be made higher and therefore the cars would contain more mass and not be as low; heavier, less streamlined and thereforewould produce more drag. it could happen.. but a normal rear engined rear wheel drived f1 car would be a much better idea than an awd one. so.. its not impossible, only pointless and inefficient

no matter what answer you gave to me is not possible. AWD IS BANNED IN FORMULA ONE. so there you go.
in F1 history there has been awd cars but im not talking about the past but the present regulations point of view.....

You could make one, but it would be a waste of a lot of money.

i reckon they would be around torro rosso pace because aston martin dbr9 made by prodrive best car in le mans gt1 (apart from chervolet corvete c6r) they make rally cars for citeron and ford i think i know they make them for a wrc team so they would do ok for a first season
