The 2006 F1 season is wrapping up today and it was basically a two horse race for the year. What are your predictions for 2007, both drivers and constructors.
Constructors
1.Ferrari-im a Renault supporter, but Kimi/Massa Should be a force
2.Mclaren- Basically all Nando and DeLaRosa/Hamilton taking leftovers
3.Renault- very sad but i see them in trouble without Alonso's talent
4.Honda- same 2006 drivers should keep them consistent through.
5.BMW- Good progress, money and drivers.
(Renault Honda and BMW should be more even in 2007)
6.Williams-Should utilize a decent engine better than toyota will :p
7.Toyota- Money wont save them from their horrible drivers.
8.Red Bull- Good Driver Combo, and newey chassis Renault engine.
(I Think Places 6,7,8 will be very closely contested)
9.Torro Rosso- Newey inspired chassis and ferrari V8 will make them lead the minnows.
10. Spyker- Ferrari engine will help, but will still be way off the pace.
11.Super Aguri-They can only hope the FIA lets them use the old Honda chassis.
Drivers
1. Kimi- His speed and ferrari liability will make him dangerous.
2. Alonso- Never should have left Renault. cant believe how he didnt see Mclaren holding kimi back. He will make Mclaren look better than they are just becasue of his talent, even schuey wont deny that.
3. Massa- I see him keeping the number 2 spot at ferrari, should be much closer to the leaders, might even challenge for the title.
4. Fisichella- Not enough speed to challenge for title, but without alonso he should have more freedom at renault.
5.Button- i dont know if he can win again, or consistently get big points.
6/7. Kovaleinen/De la Rosa- its hard to place them when i havent seen them race a whole season for their teams.
8.Heidfeld
9.barrichello
10.Webber
11. Kubica
12. Wurtz
13. Rosberg
14.Ralf
15.Trulli
16.Coultard
17-22. and the rest......

It's incredibly hard to predict this sort of thing! But I'm guessing Ferrari, BMW, Renault, McLaren, Honda are all contenders

Well i Mclaren reliability is as bad as it has been this year, Alonso isnt going to get anywhere, we saw it with Kimi who is undoubtedly a great driver being held back by the shittiness of the Macca (great car, fast as **** but soo damn unreliable)
So I see Ferrari absolutely caning next year, Macca second if they sort their reliability out.
Who have Renault got driving?
And can I just mention how amazing Felipe Massa is, given this was his first F1 season, he has kicked so much ass!

This isn't Massa's first F1 season. He raced for Sauber from 2001-2005, but I suppose it's his first proper season in a competitive car. He's definitely come out of the blocks this year. I've been very impressed with him.
2007 Constructors - Title chase between Ferrari and Honda, I reckon. Raikkonen's going to be blistering, and so is Massa, but Honda will be hot on their heels I reckon. They've got a brand new wind tunnel and are putting a hell of a lot of effort into the 2007 car.
Alonso won't be that fast in the McLaren. I won't go into details, but in a nutshell it's about adaptation to the Bridgestones, tyre wear, compound choice and Alonso's turn-in style.
Renault will struggle. Fisichella's there or therabouts, and Kovalainen won't be that sensational, he'll probably do a Rosberg but without the retirements and probably some better results, but mostly finding his feet.
BMW are going to be better with Kubica and Heidfeld, probably a force to be reckoned with. Money, fast drivers, I reckon they should be hitting the podiums and putting in a strong challenge.
Williams have landed a sponer, at&t which means more money. Probably get better reliability but will hae to work their asses off if they want to be in the top 5. I can't see a rejuvanation, but probably an improvement.
Toro Rosso with Ferrari V8s, some good drivers, just need to let them get into the game and they should be some giant killing soon.
Super Aguri hopefully will get the nod to drive Honda's RA106, which would be pretty good for them, getting quicker and getting more up the grid.
Red Bull, I can't see getting podiums. I reckon they'll be consistently in the top 10, but podiums if they're extremely lucky. They can't go from last place to third over the winter, it's not humanly possible. They'll improve, but they won't be fantastic.
Toyota will probably do a little better, but all this money's going down the drain. In 2007 they have to get their asses into gear or something's not gonna happen. They're too slow.
As for the drivers, Kimi will be almighty in the Ferrari, Button will be better in the Honda, he can learn from his mistakes, Massa will be almighty aswell, all the other drivers will be there or thereabouts, and it all depends on how well their respective teams perform.

Watch out for Kimi! I bet he's gonna kick ass next season. His lines are perfect and he's fast as hell. His team was the main obstacle he had to face the past few years. Now: Kimi + Ferrari = best combination ever!

with shumacher off the track (still feels weird to say that) i think we will see raikonnen dominate with the ferrari....i think it will be a great head off next year....raikonnen in ferrari red and alonso in mclaren silver and black....cant forget about the other teams but these two will put on a helluva show.

I will keep it short........
Manufacturers: Ferrari vs. Honda vs. maybe McLaren
Fernando will have a tough time adjusting to a diffrent ride and wheels....hw may catch on towards the second half but don't expect him to run away with anything........wins 3 to 4 races
Massa....I believe he has an advantage on the field because he is on a roll in the Ferrari and he has experience with the Bridgestones.......wins 5 or 6 races.
Kimi......I believe he will have similar troubles to Alonso but because the Ferrari is quick he will win at least 4 races or more.
Button....watch out....I think Honda will be good next year.....many people don't give him the credit he deserves and he will do well next year wouldn't be surprised if he won 5 races.
Everyone else.....I doubt we will have a winner other than the ones above but the three main candidates would be.....
Kubica-he was a strong rookie
Rosa-if McLaren doesn't restrict him about passing Alonso and if McLaren concentrates more on speed then he should win
Toyota-some of the gobs of money could equate into a win after all....
With Schumi out and Alonso switching teams this championship will be up for grabs..........top 5 final standings IMO next year will be
1. Massa
2. Kimi
3. Button
4. Alonso
5. Fisi

Everyone keeps saying nobody gives Button enough Credit, but what has he done to prove us wrong, 1 win on a weather effected race, he just seems to always be in the background but doesnt have the pace to be as exciting as kimi, massa or alonso

maybe due to the fact that he drives for BARHonda and not Ferrari, McLaren, or Renault..............

I just want to see Webber in a decent team with a decent car so that he can actually compete. He has had a frustrating time of it.

Trust me he has the talent, whip him in a Ferrari and he;ll be top of the timesheets.

I predict Kimi and Alonso will be pretty close in the beginning of the season, but after 5-6 races, Alonso will start running away and pwning the rest.
That's the battle between the drivers.
The manufacturers? It will be a fight bewteen Renault and nobody else.

I'm sticking to my laurels. I still don't think Alonso will win the championship next year.

Well while predicting the 2007 season we must seriously take into consideration the Single tyre supply from next year.BRIDGESTONE
Amongst the top 3 teams only one team runs Bridgestone and that is Ferrari. So i would say they will have the upper hand next year.
Ofcourse Honda can acquire Tyre Technical Details from Super Aguri ........the team they sponsor Engines for..........thought Super Aguri cant help them much.......something is better than nothing.
and i wouldnt be suprised if RBR comes with a competitive car with Adrian Newey by their side and guess they pulled up some gud Engineers in.Well the drivers in RBR is another issue.....they need to get better drivers to support their competitive car which i have hopes they will bring up for the next season

I'll be rootin' for the roddy Brit in the car with the big red H on the front. Either way, I'm not saying he will do anything. He's one of those guys in motorsports that I adore because he seems like such a nice guy, and he is driving the car that I like, but he can't seem to get his sh*t out of gear. I'll be rooting regardless, although Kimi is going to kick the hell out of everyone this year and everyone knows it.
