When i saw the nose from the early 2004 season i fell in love with it. It is simply superb. At least that's my opinion. It brings huge changes in the f1 styling and i think it suits best bmw and it's sharkish personality. Anyway at least it is smth different then those old school, ugly, pointy, boring noses. Here are a few links to see what i'm talking about.

But in my dissapointment some thing happened. I don't know what exactly, i think it didn't deliver the aerodynamic expected outcome so they thought it would be better to go back to the old one.

So what is your opinion about it?

haha... u fell in love with a nose. BMW is gonna have to make other changes if they're thinking of beating Team Ferrari anytime soon.

I think they should pick the more aerodynamic out of the two

I think the same they should have "the nose" that gives them best performance. :)

I think they should pick the more aerodynamic out of the twoi agree, needs something smoother, and more aerodynamic.

Ditto, styling isn't terribly important in racing, so the aerodynamics should rule.

Of course looks can and are sacrificed for performance but talking only about the looks, which do you like more? I said what i have to say. I have never seen a more beautiful F1 car. ever.

I think it looked better with the old 'walrus' nose but aerodynamics is better so i think it the new one should stay.

The supposedly "revolutionary" wing was USELESS, that's why they changed it and brought back the old one...

Right. But it was at least beautiful :) ...in my opinion bmw can make the worst looking f1 car, but if it proves to be a good performance machine and reliable then it's ok by me. We're talking about the king of car motorsport right? So if performance doesn't matter then what matters?! By the way what happened to BMW f1? from what i knew it used to have the most powerfull engine (that was last season)...and now....now they struggle to finish the race :(

The car is made by Williams, BMW only provides the engine. :)

Oh. So what are you saying? that bmw has it's role only to deliver the engine? Whatabout aerodynamics, all the other parts, suspension, exhaust, brakes and so on? I am not sure, but i think that all those things are made together, at least thought, debated and then taken actions together as a team. I have seen on tv, the bmw f1 car in a bmw air tunnel in a city in Germany testing and improving aerodynamics and explaining the whole procceses and forces. Williams has a great racing history and plenty of experience. And i don't think that the first nose (sharkish) was made by williams. that's clearly bmw's job. I think they work as a team. I doon't think bmw comes and says: "Ok man take the engine and have fun. God be with you."

They work in collaboration, but BMW's main job in the partnership is to design the engine. The chassis and aerodynamics is done by Williams.
And why is the design of an F1 car clearly BMW's job?

As M Tech said, the chassis and aerodynamics are done by Williams. BMW does not take any part in that.
Besides the engine, I think they also provide the gearbox...

You know, i'm really laughing about Williams. It took a half year before they found out that the nose didn't work  And that calls itself a candidate for the worldchampionship!!!

Excelent piont. That is really stupid even though i simjpathise with Williams BMW. If it was so bad in the first place why did they even bother to mount it and run races with it. We're talking about F1 here. I know that all the parts and i mean all are very well tested before they are aproved and mounted on the car. How on earth that nose passed all the tests. And yeah the final test hours and hours of testing the car by the test driver. How did it pass?! Strange...
