Could we get this going?

I want a comprehensive catalogue of all the Le Mans entries this year, mainly pictures.

Firstly-
Aston Martin DBR9 - Cars 007 & 009:

I have a list of the "Invited" teams from the official website, but as yet, no pictures of the team cars, other than this Aston Martin.

That's where you come in! Help to compile this gallery for the forum users and share your thoughts on Le Mans 2008!

My thoughts -
I'm British through and through, so naturally I only want one thing - for the Astons' to finally stick it to the Vettes!

Chris.

CR Scuderia revealed their car for the season.
The team will run two Ferrari 430s in the GT2 class of the FIA GT Championship in 2008; one car for Andrew Kirkaldy and Rob Bell and one for Chris Niarchos and Tim Mullen.

Not sure that the team will race in LeMans 24hrs.

This Aston realy looks stunning, but I think that the Saleen will win.
Love to watch GT class, not a LMP fan.

If it's a Le mans car then let's have some pictures!

I too believe team Oreca will be a force to be rekoned with, because most people are of the belief it will be an Aston V Chevy match, I't be funny to see the Saleen take the winnings!

No more pictures yet?

Chris.

I'm a HUGE (and i mean really HUGE) fan of Le Mans, but isn't this a bit early?, i would rather want something about Sebring 12 hours!, the lates i heard, is the test. and it said that both Audi and Peugeot will entry whit 1 car! (it is just the test) and Tom K will be one of the drivers!

I was hoping that I would be able to head down to Sebring for the testing dates on the 28th in particular and maybe the 30th as well. Unfortunately, my classes end at 2 P.M.

There is always a chance I might skip them and head down there anyway though.

Supposedly Peugeot isn't going to be at the test, but there will be the new Lexus running there, according to World car fans (which isn't exactly a reliable source).

By the way, I love that color scheme, but the Aston's did look better in green.

I'm a huge Corvette Racing fan. :D

And I'm rolling on the floor at the paint for the Aston, I guess for the first year that they are not owned by Ford they want to repaint themselves like one?

Should be a good year, and a good race no matter who wins.

If you are thinking of the Gulf Ford Gt40, then it shows that you don't know much about the Gulf cars!.
The Gulf paint, has been present at Le Mans for many years!, Porsche 917 is very famous for it! (se the Steven Mcqueen movie "Le Mans") and last year the dane Juan Barazi's 1st car was painted whit the same theme!

AND this is not Aston's official team. It's a private team taking on the same colors, not Aston Martin (they'll keep their classic British Racing Green).

Aston are still running in good ol' green. Gulf just decided to choose the *cough*best competitor*cough* and repaint it to use alongside the Aston-run cars :D

You can definitely add Panoz and Spyker to that list of GT2 entries as they both plan on running the 24 hour.

The Aston looks superb, but Jake and the Bad Boy Vettes will take the crown this year! (I hope)

Jees.

Gulf Racing is a team, they're not bound to any specific manufacturer. Search for Gulf liveried cars and you'll find allsorts!

It's meant to be an anniversary for Gulf, as they supported the GT40 back in the 1968 LeMans, they chose a team to support this year. I;m sure if Ford Racing had a Ford GT team in GT1 then they'd have gone with that, but the next best choice was clearly an Aston.

Aston are still running in good ol' green. Gulf just decided to choose the *cough*best competitor*cough* and repaint it to use alongside the Aston-run cars :DHaha, I bet they just don't want to put their pretty paint on a car that is going to go fast and get a little banged up. :D I'm sure they know the Aston are going to be driving pretty slow so their nice paint job will remain unscratched.

(se the Steven Mcqueen movie "Le Mans") and last year the dane Juan Barazi's 1st car was painted whit the same theme! You're correct, I know about the 917 but I usually associate Gulf and LeMans with the Gt40. They also sponsored 911s in the 'S' class I believe.

I;m sure if Ford Racing had a Ford GT team in GT1 then they'd have gone with that, but the next best choice was clearly an Aston.I just found it ironic that this was the first year that Aston was not owned by Ford.

MC12 not legal under Le Mans ACO rules, will not be allowed in. Carbon GT1 cars are still banned, and only allowed in the alms to bolster up poor grid over in the states.

Shame about the Maserati's.

Some people thought it too early to be talking about the Le Mans, but I'm going to take that one step further and discuss the 2009 Le Mans race!

It would be a safe assumption to see Aston Martin pull out all the stops, we will likely see an AM in every class, including the LMP now that restrictions allow for it. It will be the 50th anniversary of Aston Martin's Le Mans win, as good a reason as any to really go for it.

It's likely also that the cars will share a Gulf Livery right up until then, because the pairing of Gulf/AM is supposed to be a good team for the forseeable future.

Your thoughts?

Chris.

Nah Le Mans 2009 GT1 win belongs to the Chevy's lol :D !!!!!

OK, but why?

If you're from the UK surely you would back the continental team? Why would you not want the Astons to win at all? It just doesn't add up...

Also, we should have you deported!

Chris.
