BMW seem to have made a rather radical change.
If you ask me, this car is either going to be mighty quick, or a big step back.

Reminds me of last year's Ferrari car, albeit with a few changes and a very different front wing than the other three team's cars for 2008.

I'm hoping it is a good package, but from the looks of it, BMW, Ferrari, Toyota, and McLaren all seem to have different philosophies coming into 2008.

Go BMW though! :)

Reminds me a bit of the 2004 cars, with the huge, long nosecones and the generally streamlined shape. Just looking at it, it seems to be doing 200mph down the Monza straight already. I believe this car will be mighty quick, but we'll have to wait until March to find out if it is Ferrari/McLaren quick.

I think that the front nose is very big and smooth. Anyways i hope the best for BMW this session. Go guys, get em.

Copy cats much to the design of the MP4-22? The front wing is pretty much lifted off that car. The horns were based off Mclaren's design.

Honestly, do you think any team's designs are entirely their own?

I mean, look at the wheel covers, the top wing designs, even the rear wing designs of other cars - no part on any car seems to be "unique."

^^ Not to a point where half the entire car is off some others.

I wouldn't say it's half the car, I mean there are obvious pieces that were copied off of other teams, but the front spoiler is mostly a new design, the side of the car looks slightly different to the other 2008 and 2007 cars (looks a little like last year's Renault, actually), and the whole profile of the car just seems to be something that all the teams are doing.

I'm not surprised to see that BMW changed much on their 08 car. They were in a decent position last season, so they wanted to ensure that they didn't introduce anything that could jeoperdise that position.

The front wing is one that the team used in the 2007 season, albeit probably with subtle changes to it now, and is a lot for harsher in it's lower section ('spoon' section, if you will) than the MP4-22.

All in all though, there isn't much to comment on. The team have gone conservative (in a way) in the hope of gaining similar results and better than last year.

Of course they share some similarities, but I would hope some have improved on certain ideas generated by other teams.

Hey, as someone said, all the best jokes are stolen.
Works the same way

Got to say though, damned impressive design. I mean, it doesn't even look like there is an engine. Those sidepods are epically small, and there is actually a visible gap between engine cover and rear wing. This design, if, well say F1 designs what looked fastest would win, this would have it for me. Best looking car by far I reckon, and I never thought I'd say that with a Mclaren knocking around.

Wooooooooooot, not long.
