I was just looking through the 2008 rules, and found something interesting. Harleys have given 10 lbs back to the suzukis just to make them competitive in the pro stock bike class
All V-RODS and Buells will weigh in at 620 lbs, and GSXRs will weigh in at 610 lbs........guess the big talking gixer riders could not handle the competition

haha, nice
dude, with bikes the rider must make ALOT of difference. I mean, if they got the weight of your bikes so specifically penned down in the books, i wonder if they regulate drivers at all? different classes for different sized riders?

Heretic, it's ok because that'll work to the Vrods and buells advantage..
let's em cut the weight and add ballasts where they need it.

Chris Kirby (runs a top fuel harley) watches his weight because his bike is weighed with him on it.......He is the only pro bike racer I know, so I really don't know what goes on with other classes.......
it is kind of funny....he really is not that confident on the street, but can hang onto that drag bike

I know (as of today) they weight the riders in along with the bike in the AHDRA...Don't know about the other classes

Even with the difference in weight, The harleys Dominated in Gainsville......the suzukis did not even make it into the semi finals..................
I know the guys at magnacharger, and they are playing with a street blower for the V-ROD........260hpwas the best dyno run so far, and the ignition lost one cylinder or it would have been more

Its pretty much the same boat as the import vs domestics in the car world, the bigger displacement motors might not have the power in cruisers just like old caddi 500s but tuned for performance import 12000 rpm motors don't have the torque to keep up... Its a constant game of catch up for them

The small displacement tuners don't seem to realize that the larger displacement engines have access to exactly the same technology they have. I can and have made V8s turn 12,000 RPMs, but with more low end torque, I have more room to tune in the power and acceleration I want
