here's the new Le-Mans guy, isn't it great? I like it, the paint job reminds me of the Gulf Racing Ford GT 1968, but it's kind of different:
The now-famous powder-blue and orange Gulf Oil racing livery was on a 24 Hours of Le Mans winner for the first time in 1968 when Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi piloted the #9 Ford GT40 to overall victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe. It has subsequently been worn by a variety of other racers at Le Mans, most notably the Porsche 917, and even on the R8 campaigned by Audi Sport UK (http://www.maisonblanche.co.uk/gulflm.html) in 2001. This year, on the 40th anniversary of that first victory, the Gulf colors will again be worn by contenders at Le Mans. The #007 and #009 Aston Martin Racing DBR9s will trade in their green livery for the iconic blue-and-orange as Aston looks to defend its GT1 crown against Corvette Racing. For a race as steeped in tradition as Le Mans, this change by Aston Martin Racing seems only fitting and further adds to the mystique.

This is old news. Car was unveiled in January...

I'm supporting Corvette too, although I reckon Aston will win at Le Mans. They've always been faster than the Vettes, but Corvette racing has won on reliability. Until last year when Aston finally overcame their reliability issues.

Anyways, I kinda like the paintjob. It's cool to have a car with that paint job racing at Le Mans, no matter if it's an R10 or a homosexual Aston Martin fish.

I saw this car in the Top Gear magazine a few months ago, I wonder why its only hit the forum now :-k

it's not the gulf paint job, it's the Aston paint job, with Gulf colors, and I think they Do have lipstick...

Looks like a c**ksu**er of a car. simple a that...People don't wear yellow lipstick, so it doesn't look like lipstick not to mention it's not some high gloss finish yellow, it's pretty flat even compared to the rest of the DB1....The DB9R always looked silly with that ring, regardless of what you may think..And don't compare the beauty of the GT40 to the mundane cookie cutter-ness of the new Astons.

And yeah WOW it's got a different color "bonnet" Is it lipstick? hardly. Not even close to the AM's paint method...So shhhh, and really..stop quoting me I don't like you.

I think you have selected hatred. The aston wears that livery because that's the way it's always been, it's like hating the latest Ferrari F1 car for being that ghastly red colour.

Gulf were proud to be teamed up with Aston Martin, because they feel that the team stands a really good chance this year, hence why they didn't go to Chevrolet.

Timeless design and it looks superb, but why comment on it if you don't like it? You clearly disagree with the majority so why come here to shout and wave your arms? Jeez.

I love how they've kept the front nose cone very similar since 01, I love the current Ferrari front end.

I was just pointing out the livery on this Aston Martin is as synonimous as that of a red Ferrari, something which Driftster can't comprehend. I'm begining to wonder if the guy even likes cars anymore!

Oh! I thought you were talking about how they changed the red slightly after the sponsorships of Vodaphone and Marlboro (aka Phillip Morris). It was a bit more brighter beforehand, a bit more pinkier in a way.

I've learnt from my arguments in this forum that this is not the place to get ott. These are real car enthusiasts (including me) and they prefer to talk about the thing they love rather than getting into petty arguments about the paintjob. Shame on you Driftster [-X. I know, i know, before you even say it i know, i'm not the most experienced here and you have posted 40x as much as me, but i think you could learn from a lot of the other posters here, including C.A.R, who, by the way clearly offers posts FAR more productive than you. :)

As anyone who's been around here long enough knows the status of my enthusiast, but they also know that when i look at a car, i look at everything.... EVERYTHING..
if it doesn't all work together in my eyes, i'm not going to like it in the same way someone else does because they're just a fan of producing power, or they like it because its "nostalgic" I'm an enthusiast in every sense of the word, i wash and wax my car 2 times a month regardless of it's value or state of being, i've been tooling around on cars for years, i work at the race track and frequent other states to work on various other race tracks.

I don't like the paint.. I'm not going to like a car if it looks like ****, i can't believe you people EXPECT others to like a car that looks visually disturbing. The GT40 has a paint job, but look at the design of it...it looks like a deranged clown, not a drunk whore.

And You're worried about me because i think the grille is a mouth? You've gotta be kidding me dude, you're saying i'm the ONLY person on this board that looks at cars front ends and see's facial features. Hell timbit just said "nose cone" cars have noses? Not really.
