I heard on the news that this years british grand prix will be the penultiamte at silverstone and its last race is next year.
What has frustrated me the most is the £35million re-devolopments plans have bein confirmed and now look to be a waste.
I have luckly bein to silverstone for the british grand prix & i loved it & to hear this is tragic news.
What is your opinon on this?

Yeah, I heard about this, personally I think it's utterly ridiclous. The only way into Donnington is a tiny one-way bridge which you have to walk over! I don't see it working, and I wonder if they are just going to say, o, the tracks not ready, lets skip the British GP and go elsewhere.....

I have my doubts that it will be up to standard by 2010, but i will reserve judgement untill we go there and see whats what!

Well you guys seem to be forgetting that the Donington we know today won't be the same in 2010.
Literally everything from making the track wider, more run off space, pits and not to mention they will have to make the track longer i.e add some more infield sections.
Trust me it will be better than we think although whether or not the money promised for this will be available is a different story ............

Does anyone know how much more expensive it will be to watch the
race at Donnington than as it was at Silverstone? And whose idea was
it to move from Silverstone to Donnington anyway? Bernie perhaps?

That is teh suxors! Silverstone has a legend-like status like Monaco and Spa Francorchamps, and now they're going to take it off the F1 calendar!

Yep, the idiot that is bernie lost patience with silverstone over the devolopments and has moved it to donington.
I honestly reckon a fans consortium running F1 would be better than the FIA.

Just for the sake of asking, in the event something happened to Bernie
Eckelstone (God Forbid) who would make a great replacement?

IMO the British GP will be second to none next year. Amazingly beautiful facilities that beat out that of Dubai and the rest of the tracks they visit throughout the season. British flair.....got to love it.

Nobody. In all fairness, Ecclestone is a brilliant business man. I don't like him, in the slightest, but F1 wouldn't be what it is today without him.
A lot of people are saying he is just paying for all of donnington. That way he can just make the track how he likes, exactly to his specification. That way he can just get the satisfaction of telling Silverstone to piss off every year.
Donnington, good track, but it won't be as good. Nothing will be as good. Especially considering how epic this years race was.

I really like the design.
Shame that old sod lost patience, signs of being old & demented really.
They have had plans approved, Donington haven't even got any plans sorted, just ideas & a short deadline to do them in.
I really hope donington fail as it will give bernie a STRONG & CLEAR MESSAGE.
