Man, I been following WRC (as best an american can that is, heh) for a lil over 5 years now. Amazing to see the greats fade into the twilight. The Mcraes, the Delecours, Burns, Sainz. Its good to see new faces, but its also bittersweet to see the old guys no more driving in anger for the big teams. This pic kinda sums it up for me.

what is amazing is that all the drivers are such good friends, and look out for each other, and never ever cause conflict between themselves (the occasional upset, but nothing big), and it is almost certain the Burns will not return to Grp A, but is likely to return to Grp N WRC class, Colin McRae, well, what can i say, unless Subaru give him a place, he is unlikely to return, Alistair McRae is currently competing in the Grp N WRC class, Delecour... i havent seen him in ages, where did he go?, and Sainz has indeed packed up and gone, to the sadness of the Spanish fans (very clear at the rally, they went crazy whenever he was around!!), and I would like to add Tommi Makinen to the list too, and he know runs a school in Finland to teach young Finns how to rally cars!
I dont know what is happening to the sport right now, hopefully it will settle down a bit in the near future

I'd add T.Mäkinen to the list.

I miss colin McRae. He was my favorite. Poor guy hasn't had much luck outside the WRC.

yeah, and he was leading the Dakar this year until he crashed out, so yeah, not the best of times for him

Yeah, i saw that. He looked very, very upset. He didn't do that bad last year though (I think). People dont realize that he's an amazing driver, so it's sad.
