They probably won't. Not many people know what the WRC is. They have no market here.

USA has also a Rally Championship organized by SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). This is not following the FIA (Federation Internationale de l' Automobile) rules (also other car classes) (FIA is over series like WRC, F1, 24Hours of LeMans...). But, USAC (United States Auto Club) and NASA (National Auto Sport Association) joined and established a new championship: "United States Rally Championship". This should follow the FIA rules.
WRC in USA could find a market (Ford, Subaru, Mitsubishi), the interest of spectators and fans is an unknown. The (for WRC new) event in Mexico was successful (organizations, fans), maybe it could help some other WRC in north America (maybe USA instead of Mexico, because the number of season events is very discussed these days).

I used to watch the SCCA pro rally. That was cool to watch. Since alot of the people weren't factory backed teams, there was a vast range of cars. It was very interesting to watch. Alot of the drivers weren't really pro.

Didn't they stop the SCCA, being afraid of spectators suing incase anything hapened. Anyway, it was an issue just a while ago.
Fact: when the WRC still took place in the US it had almost no interest. None of the locals even cared about such an event taking place in their home town. And the best thing: the local sherif parked his truck on the road blocking the WRC cars, because he thought the sport was too dangerious.

The SCCA Pro rally series was stopped because, as mentioned earlier, the SCCA and other motorsports groups plan to make something called "rally USA" or AmeriRAally or something like that. It's going to be the same thing.

SCCA was not stopped, at least i never heard of anyting after the incident. One thing i dont understand is that SCCA cars have more power then WRC cars, but no sequencial transmission. That is the only reason why WRC is faster at times. I think if WRC came here though it would be like what drifting did, became more popular. Thats just my opinion tho

yeah, my friend drove one of the Prodrive made SCCA Imprezas a while back, has about 330bhp (34mm restrictor) but they are based on Group N cars, and have 400bhp ish in the SCCA (power was restricted back in the UK), which is why they dont use sequentials,
he sent me a lod of pics, these are 3 of them: (the car is run by 22Motorsport, and was for sale earlier this year for about £45k)

That is not the only thing that makes the technical difference that causes the difference in times and driving style (and prize). I would say that much more important are the differentials. The top WRC has three active hydraulic differentials and other "group A" solutions. Many of them are not in numbers but they make the car faster.
