Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 7:46 AM
they are prototypes, they aint selling it yet
DarkVenom666
Sep 20, 2003, 7:53 AM
Prototypes? LOL  ! The SRT/10 on the first photo is a concept, yes, but the second one isn't, that's a normal production RT/10. Dodge has been selling those sins '03!
jimkk29
Sep 20, 2003, 7:53 AM
Are you sure about that? It seems like the current Viper SRT-10 to me. :?
Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 7:54 AM
oh, then i was wrong
next time if i post something like this i make more research
DarkVenom666
Sep 20, 2003, 8:00 AM
Are you sure avout that? It seems like the current Viper SRT-10 to me.
The car shown on the first pic is the SRT/10 concept, the second one is the RT/10.
Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 8:01 AM
And for this im sure Dark is right, cuase he knows much, much more of dodge viper then me
jimkk29
Sep 20, 2003, 8:48 AM
Ok then... although I really can't tell the differences between those two cars. :?
Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 11:08 AM
same here, but if the door is slightly different, DarkVennom can tell, he can see that, while we can never see that 8)
DarkVenom666
Sep 20, 2003, 1:42 PM
LOL :D , well, i can't blame you, the only exterior difference are the side exhausts. The SRT/10 Concept has some kind of black 'fender' ( don't know the correct word.... ) around it, the RT/10 hasn't.
DarkVenom666
Sep 20, 2003, 1:49 PM
Whoops, sorry, faulse info.... I switched them  . The one with the 'black' exhausts, is the RT/10 Concept, the one without them, is the SRT/10. Sorry guys, it won't happed again.
Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 3:34 PM
lol, it doesnt matter, even you make mistakes with Vipers
( but still,: SHAME ON YOU  )
jimkk29
Sep 20, 2003, 5:06 PM
And where can you see the exhausts on these pics? :?
Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 5:59 PM
a little infront of the back wheel
but Dark wasnt right, this is the same car, look closely and then they both got the same exhaust
mallon
Sep 20, 2003, 6:15 PM
both models are brilliant, best 'production' dodge to date IMO...
Dutchmarshall
Sep 20, 2003, 6:16 PM
both same model
DarkVenom666
Sep 21, 2003, 8:03 AM
They aren't the same, they are both different cars. One of them has the exhaust i told you about. Look closely:
http://image.collegeclub.com/images/cc/app/contentmanager/uploads/5831.jpg
Now you see the side exhaust? It has some kind of black coloured 'plate' around it. I know i'm right, why won't you believe me!?!
jimkk29
Sep 21, 2003, 8:32 AM
I do believe you, Dark, It's just that I honestly can't see the difference!!! Perhaps I need to change my glasses?? :? :?
Dutchmarshall
Sep 21, 2003, 8:35 AM
Look to the other car, it has on the same place and it has the same Exhaust
and if you look close you will see its excactly the same dodge, but a little difference in color

DarkVenom666
Sep 21, 2003, 8:41 AM
Jim, i appreciate the fact that you believe me. But can't you really see the difference? Look at the side exhausts of them both.... They're really different.
Marshall, they have the exhausts on the same place, yes, but one of them has something black around it. And their colors are the same, it's the quality of the photo that's different.
Dutchmarshall
Sep 21, 2003, 8:43 AM
no they arent different, maybe you look not good enough, they are both excactly thesame
jimkk29
Sep 21, 2003, 8:44 AM
Perhaps if you could find a more detailed pic (highres) then we could see the difference.
DarkVenom666
Sep 21, 2003, 8:44 AM
Ok, i came up with hard evidence this time  . Look at this one:
http://www.dodgevipersrt10.com/10.jpg
And Marshalls'. You see the exhausts?
F1356WRCRS
Sep 21, 2003, 8:45 AM
Darkvenom's right. There is a slight difference in the exhaust. It's realy hard to tell, because the pictures are of rather low quality.
Dutchmarshall
Sep 21, 2003, 8:47 AM
that can be an other dodge, but on my pics, they are both thesame
Dutchmarshall
Sep 21, 2003, 8:48 AM
Dark if you find that other dodge whit same Res and Viewd from the same side, then we can better deside
DarkVenom666
Sep 21, 2003, 8:50 AM
Thank you for your feedback F1356 :) !
Marshall, the cars on your pics are different, how many times do i have to tell you!?! Look closely at the exhausts and if you have average eyes, you should see the difference.
jimkk29
Sep 21, 2003, 9:16 AM
Well... I guess I'll have to believe without seeing.
DarkVenom666
Sep 21, 2003, 9:21 AM
I guess... But F1356 saw it too, so why can't you? Please, take one more, good look.
jimkk29
Sep 21, 2003, 9:34 AM
Ok I think I noticed sth now...
Dutchmarshall
Sep 21, 2003, 10:43 AM
lol, i still aint seeing the difference
Thlam
Sep 21, 2003, 12:12 PM
yeah there is no difference!
Dutchmarshall
Sep 21, 2003, 12:40 PM
yeah, you see Jim and Dark, im not the only one who thinks that
mallon
Sep 21, 2003, 6:20 PM
well this is just turning into a big spam-feast.
Of course there is a difference! darkvenom is right! :D
DarkVenom666
Sep 22, 2003, 3:46 PM
LOL  ! It's true, though ....
By the way, i explained both of these questions' answers to Marshall, but he wouldn't believe me.... People, please answer these 2 questions so we can all see i'm right:
What's the most important on a car?
What's faster, drifting or gripping?
Thank you all for considering, i think it won't last long till Marshall sees i'm right 8) .
F1356WRCRS
Sep 22, 2003, 5:14 PM
I'd say gripping for the second question. Don't know about the first.
jimkk29
Sep 22, 2003, 5:17 PM
Definitely gripping. You lose seconds when you drift.
Dutchmarshall
Sep 23, 2003, 4:36 AM
lol, oke i beleve you now DarkVennom, but i didnt belvie u cuase u trickt me to say with that new Spyker that u said, while its in real total different
DarkVenom666
Sep 23, 2003, 5:05 PM
I told you Marshall ( he wouldn't believe me, no matter what i said :? ! ) ! When it comes to cars, i'm always right ( and you know that! ), but he still never wants to believe me.... And the answer to the first question is ( it surprized me nobody answered it.... ): It's tired, of course! What's more important than that? Nothing!
jimkk29
Sep 24, 2003, 7:25 AM
It's tired, of course! What's more important than that? Nothing!
"Tired"?? :? :?
You mean tyres?
DarkVenom666
Sep 24, 2003, 10:55 AM
Hehe.... Sorry, i made a little mistake there  .... But hey, i'm right, am i!?!
jimkk29
Sep 24, 2003, 4:21 PM
Well sort of... I admit that tyres are a very important factor, but there are also some other important ones. I mean if you put the best tyres to a Fiat Cinquecento, I guess it wouldn't be a great car... would it?
DarkVenom666
Sep 25, 2003, 10:42 AM
Every car is good with the correct tyres on it.... I bet cars with the correct tyres on them, could beat cars with way more HP than they have. But it's not only me who thinks it's true; All people who are in the race business ( especially when they are racing on very high pro levels. ), say that tires are the most important, no doubt. Some people cannot imagine how tires could be the most important factor on a car, but it's really true. Power is nothing without control and in real races, cars get set up for the tires and the track, tires won't be made to fit the car. And why do you think tires are kept secret? I mean really, really secret. For example: In F1, teams know almost nothing about the tires that will be fittted on their cars, they may not even put them on by themselfs, that get's done by the tires' company employees.

You are right there, for example, before designing the murcielago i heard many sets of Pirelli PZero Rossos had to be tested under certain conditions, they passed the tests and the results were handed to lambo, tires were adequate to handle their requeriments, then they started the developing of the car (i just heard that, i dont know if that is true)
btw: Dark, there is no rt/10 under production now right? the old rt was replaced by the srt i think, anyway i hope a new gts is underway
DarkVenom666
Sep 26, 2003, 6:51 AM
You are right there
I'm glad someone finally gives me some feedback on this :) . Good example you brought up, i hope more people get it now  ....
Dark, there is no rt/10 under production now right? the old rt was replaced by the srt i think, anyway i hope a new gts is underway
Yes, the RT/10 models are replaced by the SRT/10's and are currently under production. And yes, luckely there is a GTS coming towards us, but it probably get's produced in '05 or '06. Some say Dodge waits this long because they want to do the same as with the first generation of Vipers, first the RT/10 and 4 years after it, the GTS. It's a long time, but i think we'll be happy when we see the result, after all, for as far as i know, Dodge has never left us down with their designs 8) .
jimkk29
Sep 26, 2003, 9:01 AM
Well I agree with you too, Dark, I just meant that tyres are not the only important factor. :D
Dutchmarshall
Oct 10, 2003, 5:45 PM
and instead of tyres u can do weels like a train, then u ride to
DarkVenom666
Oct 15, 2003, 1:51 PM
If you put a trains' wheels under a Viper GTS, i bet my uncle's Opel Meriva is faster when it's in reverse  !
Dutchmarshall
Oct 20, 2003, 6:47 AM
i meand that you put the car some sort of track 8)
Dutchmarshall
Oct 20, 2003, 6:53 AM
but then again, its not a car anymore when its on some sort of track

Prototypes? LOL  ! The SRT/10 on the first photo is a concept, yes, but the second one isn't, that's a normal production RT/10. Dodge has been selling those sins '03!
Yeah, I know that this debate has been buried for quite a long time but I'm afraid there are some corrections to note.
Dark Venom is completely right about the differences between the two Viper pics: the first one is a SRT-10 and the second one is a RT-10. The SRT presents that black fender around the exhaust pipe unlike the RT.
Well, the thing is that RT-10 never went to production. And yes, RT-10 with hypehn and not with backslash. Backslash is for the old RT/10.
The RT-10 was fairly going to production (starting from 2003) but last minute decisions at Dodge's HQ along with the creation of PVO (Performance Vehicle Operation) introduced slight modifications to the project and the RT-10 was transformed into the SRT-10.
As you can see, the SRT-10 was the definitive third-generation Viper. All the Vipers sold so far during this year have SRT specifications. We can say that RT-10 served as pre-concept for the definitive model.
