Hi everybody

I am driving a honda civic TYPE R (yr 2004). My question is how to make my car faster? fit an induction kit? exhaust system? can i fit a turbo on the car?

Please advise!!!!

Thank You

My advice - keep the car NA.
Just upgrade pistons, heads, cams, intake, exhaust, ECU and stuff like that. Your aim should be to increase the redline as much as possible, so you can fit a shorter gearbox and get more torque/power at the wheels.

Yeah, I was going to say the same, keep it N/A. But in my humble opinion its gearbox is ok how it is.
I would try to harden the suspension to get it like the japanese one. But that's just the way I like cars. If you just wan't straight performance, you must focus on engine and wheels.

Come on, if you want straight line speed, you need a power adder, simple!

It would be stupid not to upgrade the rest with it, including what everyone mentioned plus fuel rails etc, but you need a power adder. Without that, that i4 isn't gonna go very fast and your speed per dollar spent won't be anything special.

Maybe he doesn't want a 400 hp FWD civic that cost a fortune to fix every month.

He could also supercharged it, just like a Airel Atom engine, it would sound great too !

why you say that keep it in NA???
is to risky turbocharged a car???
I know that overheat the engine....but with other mods you can repair that

If I remember well, it's a 2 liter 200 hp more or less. It's a lot of power from a 2 liter. Yes, you could probably get a lot more of power from it but it's allways important to have your feet on the earth.
I don't like the idea of a FWD with more than 250hp and the stock V-Tec is cool. So with a few mods you can get close to this power and remain a reliable car. Dont go crazy with mods, but if you want to, get a proper car to do it.

Slap on a cold air intake, and then put start rebuilding the engine then, if need be turbo charge it...just an idea.

Try removing unnecesary parts like passenger seats, floor mats, etc. to lighten the car. You could even try Dry-carbonizing the whole car(super expensive). If you want to keep the seats, then get lightweight racing seats.....

Getting racing seats is more for safety given that you have a roll bar and you will not go much faster by shaving 50 pounds. Most say for every 100 pounds of weight you lose you only shave 1/10th of a second off your quarter time.

Weight reduction should not be done by amatures.

Type R engine is a really great engine that has high RPM's and turbo charging it or supercharging it would put that engine to waste.. Really fast response timing :D

If you want to go fast you will have to go with some kind of forced induction on a 4 cylinder motor. If you want a great autoX car the INTEGRA type R is for you. (there is no civic type R in america). But if you stay N/A be prepared to get walked all over anywhere that there isent really tight low speed turns.

New type R..
K series motor..
What I sudgest you do is force induct it..
But make it a small turbo and low boost.

K series engines respond extremely well to modification, but before all that if you want GREAT performance..

Get the I-killer chip.
it dissables the "intelligent" aspect of the I-vtec.....Which is the best thing that can be done to that engine...

Then just bolt on's and suspension tweeks if you wanna stay N/A..
but i wouldn't..
