The Saleen S7 is one the (very) few american cars that can really compete with european supercars. I like it very much.

i like saleen, but i can't say i know too much about him or his company. And they are too expenive for my taste. "Power in the hands of a few", or something like that. My favorite saleen was one of his first mustangs, i can't think of the name now. I know saleen does stuff to stangs, but do they do anything with other fords, like the focus?

The Saleen S7 is a sick piece of machinery, badass as all hell too...I saw the a yellow one, the "test mule", at the NY auto show this year, omg, sooooo awesome. The ONLY problem with it is its price, simply because the trait going for the S7 that will get it buyers is the same trait that the Mosler MT900 Photon has for it, they're both barely-legal race cars on the road, the difference is the Mosler is "only" $250,000...If It were my money, I'd buy the S7 though, because the interior is lightyears ahead of the mosler, which in a word; sucks. That car is everything, fast, stylish, handles like a race car, has racing heritage, albeit short, that very few companies the world over can match.
The Saleen Mustangs are insane as hell too, but some guy who works at a shop rite around here has a Saleen Mustang, 500 horses, and yes, shop rite doesn't pay well, look up, "drug dealer". Besides that, the wide-body Saleen 'stang is insanely awesome... :D

Saleen Mustangs are really freaking sweet! The S7 isn't too shabby either  Im pretty sure they tune(or used to tune) Explorers too, which just struck me as very odd...

well jim with your limited knowledge of American cars i would be suprised if you actually know how wrong you are. There are a lot of American cars that can keep up with european supercars. Like any Panoz or the Mosler MT900

I find it funny that when somebody mention panoz, a person who doesn't kno much about american cars instantly thinks that panoz is a european make...imbeciles.
O and don't forget that the corvette is a very competent track car along with with other such american vehicles...the dodge viper is also a very nice american machine, though it lacks track finesse due to the lack of driver aids. :?
o well, i'm sure somebody'll smack me now

The Saleen and the Mosler are the only American cars that can compete with an Enzo, or Koenigsegg, or Mclaren, or Bugatti, or Porsche Carrera GT. As far as I know, anyway. Does anybody else know any other American cars that can compete with the European supercars?

If you were referring to me, I can assure you that I knew that Panoz is American probably at the moment I was born.

I really like the s7, is a great american car, and like people say can compete with europen brands face to face, and even be better than some of them.
But i really donīt like the cars based on the ford mustang,, to me is so much money for one mustang.
but ther a re a great brand, and s7 is really cool.

yeah, Mustang based cars are really cheap. The chassis is basically 25+ years old. The new Mustang will be so refreshing! Can't wait for a New SVT 'Stang!

Of course I'm into Saleens. They are awesome cars. The S7 is a wonderful piece of engineering. According to a recent road test (0-160-0 kmh test for being exact) S7 accelerates faster than Murcielago but Lambo has improved braking. The italian won just by very little time. This proves that Saleen is doing great effort in order to create a true american supercar.
Saleen Mustangs are equally outstanding. The SR Wide Body, only available for racing, is a great performer :D

Get a GT and spend a few bucks and buy a supercharger, performance headers, a superchip and guess what? You almost have a Saleen but at a fraction of the cost.
I own a GT with these modifications mentioned, plus a few window stickers and emblems....I now have a Saleen.
Instead of 500 horsies...I have 425+ horsies but who's counting.
I eat Vettes and Z28/SS Camaros for lunch and dinner now.
Take on a Porche Carerra GT?.........well....that's another story!!!

The Saleen Stang is AWESOME! It not only has an upgraded engine though, but a transmission that takes advantage of that power, improved supsension and a killer bodykit. The other thigns it comes with are well worht the money. It's a dman good price for the performance and looks. Power in the hands of a few

the saleen mustang looks like a jap car to me. Im not sure how ford wanted the exterior to look but its pure jap. anyways with 425 hp in a GT i would seriously doubt that you can take a z06 vette. Being that a 450 cobra proffessionally modified cant take the z06 in the 1/4 mile.

I find the Saleen S7 one of the best looking American cars ever.....not to mention performance that's equally breathtaking. The only problem, the P-R-I-C-E. Might as well buy a Vanquish S with that cash...hehe! ;) Nice work, Saleen! National pride! Unlike my country's crappy cars(Proton and Perodua). Frm Malaysia....
