I've heard that Williams is looking for something other than BMW for the coming seasons because BMW isnt making powerful enough engines for them this season. Is there any truth in this? Any of you can verify this? It would suck a** tho, if BMW is out of F-1

It is the first i have heard of it.
I dont think it will be true though..
If it were true, who do you think would supply williams? Mercedes-Benz? Renault? I doubt ferrari would.

What do u mean the other way round? BMW replace Williams? I heard that Frank Williams is unhappy with BMW Not providing them with the most powerful engine.. so they could be looking at Honda or Toyota, as stated by Dimitris

Well firstly, BMW have one of the most powerful car on the grid, 'some say it has more bhp than a ferrari'.
But i've heard the same rumor as schumi, however i dont know how accurate ?.

I dont think so pacman...
And beemerd, that was before 2 years...BMW Indeed had the most powerful engine of the F1 at 2003...Not now.

What else then? Anything else would most likely be a step down.

The current BMW-Williams car actually retains the previous season's engine, albeit heavily modified. It's because of this that BMW does no longer have the highest power output in F1.
I've also heard rumours that BMW is going to be the engine supplier for Sauber.

I think that Honda has the most powerful engine in 2005, but im still pretty sure i heard right that Frank Williams was displeased with BMW not supplying them with the highest hp, soo he's looking elsewhere

Off course Honda dont have the most powerful engine in the grid now...
Peter Sauber is still seaking for engines cause this is the last year that Ferrari provides them with engines and gearboxes.

BMW and Sauber refuse to deny takeover reports
BMW have refused to deny reports that they are considering buying Sauber.
According to reports in the German media on Tuesday, BMW are preparing to launch a 150million euros bid for the team.
The German company are said to have grown disillusioned with the continued lacklustre performances of Williams, for whom they provide engines.
"The fact is that we are negotiating with Sauber about providing motors from 2006. Everything else is speculation on which we don't comment," a BMW spokesman told Reuters.
"We are negotiating with BMW about motors and all the possibilities that go above and beyond this are speculation on which we don't comment," added a Sauber spokesman

That's interesting...
Maybe another team to watch out for in the future.
I wonder what Williams will do. Will BMW still supply engines?

Well Williams will have to then make some kind of partnership with HONDA .They r the only one left. If not than sale up . There is no future in today's F1 world for a team without major car MFG

I personally like the sound of Williams-Mercedes.
Williams-Renault maybe? Be just like the Old days... '98 i think was the last year renault produced for williams. I am probably wrong..

i think if anything it will be williams-bmw or just bmw
**EDIT**
Lastest speculation is that...
BMW will buy Sauber and Williams will use Toyota engines--therefore becomming Williams-Lexus as Toyota don't want to race themselves.
Button & Webber will drive for Williams-Lexus
and Heidfeld & ?? fir Sauber-BMW

yes guys williams may have to go with Toyota

Nick Heidfeld is set to move to Sauber/BMW should the German engine manufacturers buy the team this week from Peter Sauber.
It's believed that BMW will conclusively decide on Tuesday whether or not to buy the team from Sauber. The only stumbling block to the £150m takeover is apparently Sauber's insistence that the team continues to be based in Switzerland.
Should BMW go ahead with the takeover it will have severe repercussions for their current partners, Williams.
The Grove outfit are likely to turn to Toyota for new engines, with the engines badged as Lexus, according to the Sunday Times newspaper.
On the driver front, Heidfeld, a German who has previously driven for Sauber, is expected to team up with BMW.
Both scenarios, though, may suit Williams. With Jenson Button already contracted to join the team next season, Heidfeld's departure would thus save Frank Williams from choosing between Heidfeld and Mark Webber to be Jenson’s team-mate.
Moreover, paddock gossip claims that the BMW engines, once the envy of the grid, are now a relative weakness in the Williams package, with Toyota’s power units thoughts among those now packing a greater punch.

if sauber and bmw come together they might just be a super-team that could dominate F1 just like ferrari had done for so many years
