GT3 for the road, GT3RS for the track and now GT3RSR for serious racers
A couple of weeks back Porsche unveiled their latest derivative of the 911. Porsche model nomenclature can be a confusing business to those with only a casual interest in the marque.
At the end of 2002, Porsche launched the GT3. 380bhp, large wheels and beefed up suspension set it apart from the standard models. Then came the GT3 RS, a more track oriented car with very stiff suspension and modifications to reduce weight by 50 kilos.
Now there's a GT3 RSR on the books too. The RSR is the dedicated race version of the RS complete with a six speed sequential gearbox and an engine that will rev to 8500rpm and deliver a whopping 445bhp.
The suspension has been designed with hard racing in mind. Double coil springs and Sachs dampers with four way adjustment keep the wheels on the road whilst a full air jack system can lift it off the tarmac in a fraction of a second. Enormous 10x18 and 11x18 wheels snuggle under the arches.
A one hundred litre fuel tank will be all important in those endurace races as well as the 1100kg weight.
Anyone wanting to race an RSR will need to find 279,000 Euros (~£170,000) to purchase one.

Luck bastards with 279,000 euros
Aw, I got jealous!
Thats a really sweet car, I wish more companies would make super specialty models like that. Or at least make them available in the U.S. I don't even care if they're not ednurance racing made, just somethings like more Mazda Sport, or Nismo, or Mugen models here in the U.S. I'd pay a whole hell off alot of $$$$ for a Mugen s2k!!!

with 1 finger in the nose and 1 in the ass.. you only have to look to the throttle and The Enzo did already beat that ugly Porsche with alot of sec's in a lap!
:D sorry.. i couldn't shut mty mounth
Why ohh why did they make alot of stickers onthe car :s
If there is one thing that is Freakin ugly to me it's stickers on a car :S
If ya wanna build a Racer for on the track.. Why don't you build it like Ferrari did with their 575GTC?? I Prefer that one alot above this Porsche!
And i think The Ferrari Will beat the Porsche anytime!
Well ... get to the positive point now.. The design looks better as an Stock GT3 RS.. more agressive ... finally..
Cheers.. Danny!

The picture is not the RS. I don't know whether it is the RSR, or what, but i think it is the old RSR. And the RS is street legal, and I'm pretty sure that the RSR is not.

The car in the link is the production GT3 RS. I have no idea what the RSR looks like, but I imagine it looks very similar to the RS.

Yeah they will spank the RSR, but I think they are in the racing class above the RSR.

I don't think they could. The last gen GT3 RS won the Daytona 24 this year, beating the Prodrive Ferrari 550, all the Daytona prototypes, the Corvettes, everybody. Anyway, the 575 GTC is a lot better than a regular old 550, but we'll have to wait for Le Mans next year.

Yeah I also read that those Ferraris has some reliability problems, whereas the Porsches could last all the race.

Don't belive the lies!!!! The Prodrive cars ARN"T EVEN IN THE GRAND AMERICAN SERIES that has the Daytona 24 Hours!!!!
Prodrive WON the 24 Hours of LeMans GTS Class for gods sake....And in the Grand American Series a Ferrari 360 GT won the Championship in the GT class beating ALL the Porsches....Pretty damn "relaible" if you ask me....and the 911s are much, much older and more "experienced" they better watch out! Lol!

Your right about the 550s not being there, completely forgot about that. But Porsche won the 24 Hours of Daytona 2003. They beat the Corvettes, which beat the 550s at the real Le Mans two years in a row, but not this year. Sorry if I confused anybody.

But a Ferrari won the GT championship in Grand Am. :-)
And we're all a little confused at times lol.
