racing is like drugs and this is not good. i need to go to my track to just drive and get this out of my system. my problems are i dont have any money to pay for track time and even if i did the track is closed for some reason i really dont know. now normally this wouldnt bother me much but i had a good/bad experience while driving today. as i was coming home from school a car about three cars behind me came rushing up and passed me really fast. i didnt really react much because this happens quite often 16 quick car others want to race me ect.. ect.. this time though the guy after getting about six cars or so ahead swerved and spun out into my lane. thankfully nothing bad happend but my having to react got my adrenaline pumping and now i cant stop thinking about having to race. seriously i was shaking a few minutes ago. please help me this cant be good for my health

RELAX first of all. I did more or less the same thing last monday-it was wet, in the twisties, and i was in a rush.
Just dont go out trying to get that adrenaline high by racing the first thing u see. Find an empty parking lot or something.

Find a nice secluded stretch of mountain road and drive it a LOT so you are very familiar with it. To the point that you can imagine every turn in your head. After that get a set of R compount tires and go up there at 2am on the weekends.
That's wht me and my friend do and we find that it's more fun than the track.

Driving a tight canyon road will make you a better driver than simply track driving. The is absolutely no room for error on a mountain road. It's an uncontrolled enviroment and suprises are something you must deal with and be prepared for. Some are cars, some are rocks in the road, animals, wash out after a rainstorm, gravel ect..... Due to erosion the canyon I drive changes every year, the road develops new bumps and dips and the camber changes too.
As for the local tracks (second creek and PMI) they are the same year after year. The top speed of these courses are pretty low. I never see 120+ on the local tracks (local being 1 hour and 2.5 hours away). The canyon I drive on has a few strights through the valleys that I can see 120 on if I have the balls to do so.
Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Hey, TTB, it seems that you could develop some sympathies for rally. The road you are describing sounds nice, I share your opinion.

I would LOVE to do a targa race, but america seriously lacks them. There are open road races and the AKA and gumball but none offer what I am looking for. So I'll have to stick to what I have.

you could do the Targa Newfoundland race if you had a burning desire.

If I were a millionaire with a lot of spare time I'm sure I would. I participate in multiple club canyon cruises and the annual supercar cruise and me definately have a little fun enjoying spirited driving.
The police will not pull over a line of 60 cars going 120 in a 65 with their hazards on, nor would we even stop.

You can sleep in the cavity in the wall as long as you dont have any problems with necrophelia.
Edit: It would be kinda hard to do anyway, since Tasmania is to Australia what Canada is to the US, but we had the for sight to take it over

Canada knows it's americas bit@h, but they have good maple suyrp so we leave them alone for the sake of good pancakes. I have seen some targa new zealand races on the speed(nascar) channel and they look awsome, just exactly what I would like to do. For example yesterday I took a city drive downtown and shot some footage with my crappy video camera. The road is under a highway and the echo at full throttle is amazing. Than we went to the bar (the little lady was with me). Tonite we took a mountain highway drive to vail(we as me and a few Z buddies) and on the way you go through the eisenhower tunnel which is about 2 miles long at an elevation of 10,000 feet, we had a beer and a $12 burger there and came back over loveland pass which is at 13,000 feet (over the tunnel) and came back to my house and watched a grip video and getaway in stockholm 1&2 on the big screen. Good weekend other than my maxima being trash. In short I LOVE driving fast on public roads.
