Today, I was on the highway, and everyone was stopping because of an accident. I saw the car, and it flipped over, and the whole roof was smushed into the interior. I passed it twice because I was driving all over the place with my friend. The first time, it was about 2 minutes after the crash, and the second time, their was a hurse there. The driver died, and probably the passenger too if their was one. Very sad....

A hearse...two minutes after the crash...
Now, excuse me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that hearses were meant to carry the coffins to the graveyard - not straight after the crash.
But yes, this story is indeed sad, I feel for the people who knew the people who were involved in this? What did they say was the cause of the crash?

Wouldn't the body be [law required] transported to a hospital via ambulance to be pronounced dead, before a hearse?

Not necessarily. If paramedics find irrefutable evidence that a victim cannot be resuscitated (such as a decapitation) they can pronounce the victim dead at the scene. That occurs a lot of times with highway crashes.
I just found out today that my great aunt and uncle were hit by a semi last night. I never knew them, but it's sad just the same.

A regular van transports bodies to the morge, a hurse transports the casket from the funeral home to the burial site.

The only time a hearse would transport a body directly from the location of death is if it was from uncontested natural causes.

On wednesday a WRX ran away from the police for a possible DUI. Sped up to 70 mph and the police couldn't keep up. He took a turn on Monroe street and flored it from there. Not to far away, right in front of my school; he crashed into a telephone pole. Probably according to a black box device, he was going 140 mph when he hit the telephone pole. Carried away in one of those ford econoline vans with "Dignity funeral home" on it.
My math teacher drives the same car ('04 WRX) and apparently he came late that day so everyone was going, "Oh ****.. was that him?"

No, the hearse was there about 25 minutes after the first time I saw it. It's a tough thing to see. Makes me remember about one of my friends who died in a car accident earlier this year. Overcorrected off a road, and it flipped. No seatbelt, he flew out, and died on his way to the hospital. So sad.

And exactly what is this supposed to mean?.. A 22 year old man died on wednesday; are you mature enough to at least give some respect?

Well he was under the influence. Within the past week a few people died of drunk driving; this guy in the WRX and a few students from Gunn High School after drinking too much at a graduation party.

Very sad story...

Both my grandma an granddad died in an accident. They both died instantly and both times a hearse brought them to the morgue, since there wasnt a reason to bring them to the hospital.
But maybe it works different in the USA

Isn't it that legislation that cops can't chase after a certain speed? You're from the Bay Area. I don't even know if they can go over 95 mph on 101. :-k Trying to prevent crashes supposedly. From what I read in the newspaper, cops just had to back off, thats all.
It must be quite a demoralizing scene to see a hearse carry away a body from an accident..

:-knot sure.... i guess it depends if they're ecelerating or if they're already going very fast. Some kid coming from novato twoards san rafael was going over 150 and they called police from i think marin city, like 3 towns down to catch him. same thing with the son of the owner of british motor cars; i dont know what he did to his 3 series but he managed to go above a buck50 and spent a night in jail.

Here occurs a famous accident (because it involve two rich boys with maybe 19 and 20 years old)....one driving a black 350Z with twin turbo and a red Supra TT.....
They are running at high speeds (in an illegal race of course).....and in a famous corner that so many people die....the 350Z lost the control...hit the supra....the driver of the "Z"...fly from the side windows and his body hit a wall......the 350Z and the SUPRA TT....finish inside a restaurant (one person with serious injure inside the restaurant)....the driver of the Z don't die instantly....and the driver with the supra finish in the hospital with his girlfriend.....
that's why i dont udnerstand why the people do that races.......yes.......its sometimes funny and cool....but really dangerous

 There is a freeway nearby my neighborhood, and i was going to my uncle's house, then i saw a place when a car, chevrolet opala, crashed, its flew above the bridge and stopped in another side of the freeway, there was blood on the grass, and the blood's smell was strong when we arrived near, was a sad accident, because the driver and a pregnant lost their lifes, probably the car was above the speed limit!!!!!!!!

I recall near where I live there is a motorway coming off the m62 through the A627 approaching Sand Brook park.
Some dumb kid in a 318 BMW P reg, comes down at about 100+mph, thinking probally by his coming stunt it was still a aroundabout.
Sadly this was not so, seems while he was away it now a junction with lights, in his panic he tries for some reason to handbrake and ends up snapping his car clean in half as it smashes into a huge concrete post.
Both driver and passenger was killed, and was not a pretty site as they was thrown clean from there car at about 70mph into a solid pole.

my dad is a truck driver, and one day at work when he was loading his truck (his work is extremly noisy) a work mate of his walked behind a semi reversing up against the dock and got sandwiched between the semi-trailer and the wall of concrete, unfortunately the driver did not hear and drove off dragging him underneath the truck for several hundred metres.
-sad because he was a great bloke
