wanted to kno if anyone here raced in SCCA events and such I'm planning on doing several autox this summer and I work for a team as a crew member for time trials (used to be solo I) which do hill climbs and some track events. The cars that I work on include:
Ford Gurney Eagle (Advatar)
Merlyn (2)
Ford Mustang 5.0
Porsche 911 GT2
Formula Vee
all of which kick ass
and I try to set my car up for solo 2 whenever I get time

I've done AutoX, RallyX, and Time Trials.
AutoX wasn't very much fun. Lots of sitting around; a couple of minutes of driving on a course that was too small and twisty to have much fun on. Won't be doing it again.
RallyX was really fun. One tenth the number of people as an AutoX event, which translates to more driving and less sitting. Also the course was lots of fun, and it was great to be able to slide around in the dirt and mud. I'm hooked. Bought new wheels and tires so I can go faster. Will definitely be doing more.
Time trials was really fun. Lots of driving on a track where I could actually go fast. Just the right mix of speed and safety. About as far as I want to push the competitive envelope in my street car. Will definitely be doing more.
Never done SCCA club racing, but I'm getting more and more tempted. Will likely buy a car like a spec Miata if I decide to take the plunge.
