This is so weird... Do you remember when you went cruising the streets and the girls for the first time driving a car ?
My experience was very special because I was then 15 (and no licence) and I was doing it in such a rare car that I think car enthusiasts would be interested to know. So even if you were driving a SKODA let's share this.

As I said I was 15 and my father was travelling during the week as a sales rep. This was in 1974... Sitting in the garage was a silver 1972 Maserati Indy 4.9 V8, 320hp and a max. speed of 170mph..... I used it all summer without being caught and I told him the truth only a couple of years ago...He laughed !!!! ah ! and by the way my problem was more trying not to have two girlfriend at the same time. I'll never know if the car had anything to do with that...

Nice, does your dad still have the Maser? And I haven't driven on the streets yet, well I have, but not alot for the obvious legal violations.

Ha, nice.
EDIT: On second thought, I'm not gonna post this story here.

No he doesn't have this car anymore. He later went in the german camp...
Honestly, if he had kept all the nice cars he had in his life I think he could have made a fortune at Barrett-Jackson !!

I *accidently* won my one and only "street race" with my dad's stang when my parents went on vacation two or so years ago. Now I just stick with my car. I find as far as girls go that only with the top down in his car do I ever get more attention.

My first somewhat cool car was a '78 Camaro Type LT w/ 3 speed auto that was a (extended) loaner from a relative. The lackluster 4bbl 305 residing under the hood was nothing to get a elated over, but at the tender age of 15 I hacked off the mufflers and gutted the cat. It sounded decent. Came to me with a working 8 track, CB radio and factory power windows (not bad for a '78 anything, eh?).

I took it out two or three times after getting my licence. That is until my insurance company realized the implications of letting a 16 year old male drive a 2 door with any kind of V8, and sent me a policy letter explaining why I couldn't be insured through them because of my lack of experience, statistics, cause we're a bunch of white collar weenies yadda yadda.....So my performance aspirations were put on hold until I got older. I ended up selling the Camaro to a family friend.

Though our time together was brief, that first 'maro got me hooked on V8 rumble. Today I am proud to say I'm the owner of a '63 Tempest with a 467 ci of traditonal Poncho iron lurking between the fenders. The body is a perpetual work in progress, but it is still a blast to take on the street on those long summer weekends. No, it is not my daily driver.

My first cruiser was somewhat less spectacular. It was a '92 Subaru Justy, but I loved that car.

And Bofo, have you ever heard of neutral?

Yeah, you put it in neutral, roll it into the street, start it up, and go. If you start it in the garage of course he is going to hear it silly.

I loved those little Justy, Tabber. Specially the 4wd version. I used to have fun with a friend's car in the Quebec winter... I was throwing it in the corners rear end first and still could make it !!!!! hiiiiihh haaaaahh !!!

Yeah, they were maneuverable, reliable and just plain fun. I grew up in Chicago and you could parallel park it without putting it in reverse lol.
