I'm not holding my breath for a hat trick. McLaren will get a podium though (if their cars don't fall apart). It's becoming a battle with BMW now.

yeah i agree i hope that BMW will be able to pull something up they have the talent and mainly the car just not quite there yet.

BMW, Mclaren and Renault... they have best chances to win. I still believe that kimi will be as superior as in last two races.

I hope webber can make 2 podiums in a row here.
I would like to see a ferrari added to the first place battle too.
I can't wait till sunday night!

This was quite an odd qualifying session. First off, the BMW cars are 1st and 3rd. It's nice to see them up there, but it's strange none the less. Kimi is where he should be, no suprise there. However, toyota and renault are way off the pace. Ferrari is where they should be. Still, I don't want to see renault fall off their pace. They're an excellent team and really deserve to be on top.

i am not quite sure how you can call the Renaults and Toyotas off pace, they are faster than the Ferraris!!
Good on Hiedfeld for qualifying 1st its brilliant!
1. Heidfeld
2. Raikkonen
3. Webber
4. Trulli
5. Montoya
6. Alonso
7. Barrichello
8. R. Schumacher
9. Fisichella
10. M. Schmacher
now i know you were referring to the practices but with all four of the Renault/Toyotas in the top 10 that can't be bad!! considering the BARs have the the old engine they are 13/16 on the grid.

Renault is usually in the top 3 or so. Same with toyota. I should correct myself. They're not really off the pace. They are, however, not as fast as they usually are.

I'am a huge Mark Webber fan cause he's a local aussie but i hope he can hold he's position and get a podium. if he keeps up he's form he could even catch up to Alonso in he's recent slump. I'am also a huge ferrari fan as you can see and i think schumacher's season isn't goin to pick up fast until monza then watch them fly.

You think the ferrari will do good at monza? It would be cool, but i don't see it happening.

I really do hope mark webber can do well at nurburgring.
Today i was thinking about the ferrari's and their performance. I thought that after this season they might do a toyota. A comment from the boss 'we are putting lots of money into you, we want results' kind of thing. I think, maybe, next season ferrari will be very, very quick..

very nice race!! unlucky montoya becase webber push him!!
i don't know what to say about kimi he run perfect and the fuucking tire broke
maybe he push more than alonso the car and of course the tires.
They have to change this regulation and leave the teams change tires (it's very dangerous for the drivers).
i don't say that alonso didn't deserve the 1st place he race with the same tires too!

What happened to Kimi is sooooo unfair, he really deserved 1st place. It got me quite pissed off. I agree they need to change that rule about the tyres.

May 29, 2005, 5:10 PM
It was unfair, BUT, it also was his own fault. He locked up his wheels quite some times.
I'm very happy about Barri's podium finish. Heidfeld is also doing great!
Great race too btw.

yeah i agree with carrocker Kimi should have come in--but easy to say in hindsight. good on hiedfeld and brilliant drive from Alonso and Fizzy was excellent. so much for being off pace!!

May 29, 2005, 7:35 PM
Wow. I'm really mad about this. Not even a podium. It's not Kimi I'm worried about. He'll come back next race and do excellent (if his car stays together). Montoyta better shape up. Every performance he's had so far has been lack luster at best.

SaleenRunner04
May 29, 2005, 8:21 PM
that was the biggest upset so far this season. Raikkonen would have been able to hold off Alonso had his wishbone not completetly shattered to pieces in the VERY LAST LAP!! i was really hoping that Raikkonen would have gotten a hat trick, and get his third consecutive win. i guess he'll have to wait till Canada to get another first.

SaleenRunner04
May 29, 2005, 8:23 PM
o and yea i though it was a pretty good race. great showing by Barrichello, and especially heidfeld on his home course. i was hoping trulli would have gotten podium, but i guess that got squashed after he got a pentaly.

Good race! Without the suspension failure, I think Kimi could have held off Alonso, especially since there were no paved shortcuts for Alonso to use like last week. Did the tire come apart and snag something, or was it just the vibration that caused the CF wishbone to fail? That would be news to me. I thought CF was stronger than that.

There was nothing "unfair" about it. Kimi's **** broke. That used to be the rule rather than the exception in F1. Some days you eat the bear; some days the bear eats you. That's racing! No whining allowed.

it's like when hakkinen lost the first place when at the last lap broke his engine.....
Mclaren is very unlucky team.

It was a good race. I feel sorry for weber.
Bad luck for raikonen. He did fantastically. He came so close to hitting one of the BAR's (sato?) when he crashed.

censored things about race.. :( Kimi was the best driver but now only luck was against him. Coulthard did well! I am happy for him.

I feel sorry for Webber, He can qualify well but he just can't finish races.
Kimi just didnt have luck on his side.

IMO the right word isnt "unfair"...
The right word is luck...which off-course was not with Kimi at this race.
Kimi did 3 or 4 mistakes during the whole race and those mistakes made the tyres become like we all saw.
Its not terms of fair or not so...
IMO Kimi didnt drive so carefully and Michelins showed that in high temperatures can be deadly.
My opinion again is that the retirement was 70% Kimi's faults 20% Michelin's and 10% terms of luck...
