I read this in a newspaper, I'll try to translate it in english from greek so forgive me for making any mistakes...
The rumours of a cockpit change between Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikkonen are getting bigger. According to the german newspaper "Bild" that calls upon valid sources, Raikkonen has already signed a pre-contract with Ferrari which is about him moving into the Scuderia in 2007.
The newspaper reports that the first discussions of the 25year old Finnish driver for a forthcomeing change from McLaren-Mercedes to Ferrari have already started a year ago. In May there was a deal in all spots between the two sides, who are waiting for Kimi's end of contract in the end of 2006.
"Bild" also adds that the move of Raikkonen to Ferrari will open the road for Michael to join the team of McLaren-Mercedes.
The manager of Michael, Willi Wbber announced the day before yesterday that his client is not about to sign his contract renewal with Ferrari, a fact that increases the possibilities of moving to the opposite side.
It is said that the 36year old Schumi demands an increase in his year salary from 35 million to 40 million and the insurance that he won't work in the evolution part of the team but only in driving.
THEY DENIED IT
Both Ferrari and Mclaren denied the statement of "Bild". What makes an impression is the loose reaction of Scuderia that only made do with Luka Kolagianni's (team's representative) statement that "It is too soon to start conversations for 2007. We don't have any obligations against anyone for 2007" As for McLaren, their boss Ron Denis said about the "dedication" they ought to have for the goal of winning the championship, both the team and their pilots that drive the cars, while Kimi underlined the fact that he hasn't faced any problem with the team and many would like to be in his place.
That's it!!! Is it true???

That is true. :) Kimi said that Mclaren is the best team at the moment and it would be stupid to change team. I believe that he will stay in Mclaren for a long time.

Kimi will likely stay with McLaren, and I think at this point, Raikonnen is the better driver, with much more of a future because he's so young. I really don't think that McLaren would jump to give Schumi $40 million a year when they already have two of the best young wheelmen in F1.
As for the Scuderia's demise, HELL NO! Ferrarri missed the mark a little with the F2005, but they're still the premeir organization in F1. They'll get the Bridgestones figured out, or dump Bridgestone and go w/ Michelin. That and new V8 power in '06, and they'll be running right up front with McLaren and Renault.

If this happens, I will lose faith in formula one. If schumacher joins McLaren Mercedes, I will eat my own face.

Thats not true. In Finland they interviewed Kimi and he said that he is completely satisfied being part of Mclaren.
But we never know what is gonna happen.

I'm thinking there might be a reason of Michael going bad... He might do it in order to give Ferrari an excuse to swap him with Kimi...

I don't get why Kimi would want to leave though, Mclaren has arguably the fastest car out of all the teams. Next year I can see them dominating, even over Renault, which I actually wouldn't want because I really don't like Mclaren. Either way, I don't see Kimi leaving any time soon.

i was actually hoping that when shcumachers contract ended, that would be it...
even if you do hate Renault, you've got to give it up to them, they have competed much better than last year.

I dont think it would happen in reality, but if it did it will ba a great thing for Formula one. yeah ferrari would loose their best driver but the opposite side has gotten stronger. in this case ferrari will do what they can in order to increase their competitio toward the better team because Ferrari is used to being on top the last half decade or so. Also, Mclaren is the best car in F1 imo and if schumi goes in McLaren he will probably retire after one or two seasons. He does nto need more, he has a lot of championships, won races, etc etc. I seriously felt it was Schumi's time to go out when Mika Hakkinen gave up. Mika as bad of a person he was in Ferrari's fan's eyes, he was the #1 competition to ferrari which kept up the suspense in which we stared at the tv looking for that moment when one or the other makes a mistake or when one or the other did something great.
F1 should chnge for good. these new rules suck and I think they should try mixing up the drivers/teams. Because something like Toyota or Jaguar has stupid drivers ( I havn't watched this season much because of the rules ) and they already suck as a car, then they will SUCK period. but if jaguar gets someone like schumi, they will get some respect and it will be better for them. The now a least have drivers to make up for performance. True that speed is #1 in F1 then comes the driver but still.
My opinion of course; the new f1 rules suck, the new f1 sucks. I think they should go back in time. around 2000/2001. LOVED IT!!!!!

Sorry, I havn't watched this year because of the rules and in fact I dont really care anymore. if Hakkinnen came back, screw schumi, screw Kimi, Screw Ralf and Barichello. hes a hero. Got unlucky toward the end but he is one of the greatest. Now its Trulli's time to shine? WTF!!!! three years ago, trulli was happy to FINISH!! I was a great fan of Schumi and hated Hakkinen just like all ferrari fans, but to see Schumi win all the past 3 years iS BULLSHYT!!! there is no point in watching If I know the finishing positions without even qualifying. We need suspense, competition, and a great sport. I hope it changes soon.

I saw a video of him testing last years ferrari's at F1 testing ground, he was only a shade over a second slower than schumachers all time record for the course! he was only practicing though and I cant confirm if he is joining ferrari.
