This forum is populated by many magazine-quoting "experts" who talk down various types of racing. Many of them have never attended an auto race. F1 is rightfully the ultimate form of motorsport. Except for cheekygirl, not one of you posted for 2 weeks (or ever) about the Hungary GP. Was everybody in Majorca or Panama City?
Spare me the ignorant NASCAR is boring/DP cars are ugly.
Can anyone tell me about the Mosport CN ALMS race yesterday? A little bird told me the Vettes are under "team orders". The Road America race was really good. The Vettes weren't used to following a Saleen S7R for many laps.
I watched the last 35 of 250 laps of the NASCAR race at Fontana CA. Kyle Busch, current champ Kurt Busch's younger brother, won the race in a Rick Hendrick Chevy. At the age of 20, he became, by 5 days, the youngest person ever to win a NASCAR cup race. He earned it.

(Spare ME the ignorant "if you dont like F1 you arent a purist" bullcrap. Some of us just like and appreciate different forms of racing. Dont like it? Welcome to reality.)

Well gee I guess if the topic was so important or loved and adored people probably would have said something about it. The fact that they didnt probably represents the primary fan base not being interested in either series. Ever think of that?

Its not like that. Im not looking for "oh god he's great". Its just a matter of preference and its very ignorant to tell someone that their form of entertainment is dumb or to state that your preference is the elite of all activities. For example I think drifting is absolutely retarded. However I know many people find it fascinating, and are completely obsessed with it. If he had said ,"Hey how come none of the F1 fans are chiming in I would completely be with that man. I'm just saying dont pump up your own opinion of what the best form of racing is then treat other people like they're ignorant. Most people think drag-racing is stupid easy, but when they get to the track they're dumbfounded by how much goes into it. Same thing with people and their opinions of nascar. Go straight, turn left right? Nah those teams work in a highly confined ruleset that makes them work for years to get .1 seconds of a lap off a setup. Respect peoples rights to disagree is all im saying. :)

I watched the Mosport ALMS race. It would have been nice if that Saleen could have caught those two Vettes. 2 and 1/2 hours of racing, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place all finish within 5 seconds. I'm curious what sort of retrictions the Saleen is running under. You'd think it would be faster than a Vette.
I couldnt figure out how that Porsche that lost its wheel on the last lap won the race. It didn't finish.
I couldn't care less which cars won the prototype classes.

12 inch, at 3151 posts I would expect nothing less than impressive quoting. j/k.
slow, F1 seems to be important here usually. There are lots of posts opining on various driver's abilities. However, Cheeky was the only poster on the Hungary GP.
Pedestrian/magazine quoters can have the Comparison(magazine numbers) or Ext/Int Mod threads because they are outside my range/experience/taste.
Anyone posting an opinion on motorsports or technical threads should expect to be held to a higher standard of accuracy than what they have read or heard recently.

I am no longer a tech. I don't get trade journals, tech bulletins, or classes in new procedures. I don't have time to read stacks of car magazines. I have felt like a car expert graduating to dumbass. I came to this forum to learn. Since early December 04, I have come to you guys for info on new cars. In exchange, I have offered bits of useful info gained from my experience.
I apologize for any previous intemperate remarks (except to those who like Bangle-designed fatass newer model BMW's. They suck.).
