I personally love cars as most of you do. But I don't like to just sit around it watch races on TV and look up cars on the web. I like to get out every once in a while to see (and hear) a good race. There's a nice race track about an hour north of my house called the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. So far I've been to two races, an American Le Mans race and a Rolex Sports Car Series race. I just love how loud and fast those things are!:D What kind of races have you guys been to?

I've seen Ferrari Historic races and the 360 Challenge. Other than that and a couple of trips to the local dragstrip, that's it.

A better question for me would be; "What kind of races have you been in?"

However I've attended as a spectator:
-NASCAR
-IRL
-Champ Car
-ALMS
-Several different NHRA classes, (drag racing).
-Miscellaneous autocross and road racing events.
-Misecellaneous motorcycle races.

Welcome to SCF, Tex.

I went once to Mid-OH in '86 to see my only CART/Champ Car race. That is the only track on both ALMS and Grand Am Rolex calendars. Published lap times indicate DP cars are 5 seconds slower than P1 cars there, or about as quick as the GT1 Corvettes. How would you compare the level of competition between the two series?

I went to the Daytona 24 1991-1995.

I live 90-odd miles from Road Atlanta and have attended countless races there including Can-Am, Trans-Am, IMSA GT/GTP, SCCA Runoffs, Vintage, and 1 AMA bike race. I went to the debut ALMS Petit LeMans in '97/'98(?). I chose live outdoor music 4 of the years since. Apathy took care of the rest. Since then I have been to a couple of SCCA IT Runoffs(great racing!), 1 Vintage Race, and the ALMS race this spring.

Recent developments(Saleens competing with 'Vettes/a Dyson win) give me hope for ALMS.
