how do you adjust the vacuum modulator?

remove the vacuum line going to it and look into the nipple sticking out of it. you should see a small slot that you can use a precision screwdriver to turn clockwise or counter clockwise. now understand that not all modulators will be of the adjustable type. why do you think that yours needs to be adjusted?
