yes they are but thats only one side of the story an import is only as good as it is taken care of and i have seen a lot of US cars that are just as good and then not to put out german cars. how many here would not take a german car over anythig.

A perfect example that Japanese cars are very reliable,
I drive a 1998 Honda Civic dx with 147,000 km on it, I bought it brand new and the
only problem I had with it is the replacement of the 4 way flasher botton whitch
was covered under warrenty.
So japanese cars are defenetly very reliable cars!!!

Japanese cars, as a whole, are the most reliable cars on the planet. This leads to a good deal more tuning and modification beccause they can handle more aftermarket and performance parts in general than anything else. European cars don't really need any tuning and whatever you DO do to it it's fairly expensive and done by a company that's been in the buisness for a while. We don't get all of the cars that Japan makes, and also the US spec imports have less performance than the JDM spec ones. Japan makes boring cars like America makes hatchbacks ; and reliable, quality built cars like the US makes SUV's and Trucks :lol:

SOme people consider Japanese cars boring but for the most aprt you can call any countrie's cars boring like America or Germany Where there are Opels, Buicks and A bunch of Chevy Malibus running around

I agree, they have a few nice cars....but they over-design some cars by adding WAY to many body kits, flares, stupid wings and so on.

The people huh? STI, Evo, later 3000 GTs, last of the 2nd gen Eclipse, some Civics, Supra (but I like that one lol)..........

those wings acutally serve prurpose because they are real performance cars, and let me ask u this why is it that a STi or evo can't have a wing but a Chevy Camaro or Ford mustang for example. If the wing is for purpose and looks alright( but beauty is in the eye of the beholder) then wings it shall have.

Race cars have spoilers because they go insanely fast. Who wants to drive a race car? Lots of people!! So companies put spoilers, large or small, on thier cars. Some are functional, some aren't. Some body kits reduce the drag coeffecient, some don't. I'm not gonna whine and complain about what other people put on their car because that is their own buisness and their own choice. I don't have to look at a car with a 5 foil spoiler if I'm stupid enough to get mad and angry about it. I see it and look away, simple as that, I don't stress over some trite and meaningless thing. What matters to me is my car and what I'm doing to it. I see something I like, I'll marvel at it and tell the driver what I think if I get the chance. I see something that doesn't groove with what I like, i'll simply move on, no stress, I add another day to my lifespan. 8)

you got a little confused over here ,

regular japanes cars are more reliable than europian cars , becouse of one reason , they use old devices and mechnical stuff .
such as old automatic gear box with 4 transmitions and no electronic stuff for confort or other little things .

mainly the europians are much better specially when it comes to comfort and behavior , becouse of all the electronic system they have , for example the C5 is really comfrtable , its big and well built and so on , but it have one major problem , it have to many electroic failures .
electronic failures you can find in more french cars .
as for the american cars i don't have any information couse i don't really like them , i think the are too soft , an old fashioned and not well built engine a non responding steering and the suspenions :?

if you ment sports cars , then th diffrence is alot more smaller if there is !
mainly "pure" sports cars are built with no electronic stuff to get a lowered weight , and so on , so in that way the europians are better easy .
when talking about regualr sports cars rhe diffrence is small , the japanes are a little bit more reliable but the europians are better handling , built with better materials and more improved than the japanes .

if you ask me i prefer to go to the garage a little more but really ENJOY my ride
