Because The car that im going to put it on would be a Black 2003 Mustang GT and im thinking of putting a Cobra supercharger on it...... but I'm also thinking of putting a SVT Cobra R body kit on it as well OR LOWER IT ...... But I think I'll only have enough money for one of those but I can always save the money.

depends, if you think Speed is more important then looks
i would chose for the bodykit first and later buy a supercharger

Yeah, it all comes down to that. But if it was MY car? I'd get the Kenne Bell Supercharger right off the bat!

Mustang body kits look like crap, lowering makes a huge difference on them.
Id go with a Vortech with aftercooler or procharger supercharger.

Depends on what kind of looks you are looking for. Want the car to "look" the role but cant play the part get the body kit. Its still faster then a lot of cars out there so the body kit would be ok. Or do you prefer the "look" on peoples faces when a totally stock appearing mustang GT hangs with a baffled Z06 owner? I guess it is all about "looks".

I'd go w/ the the blower, preferebly an intercooled procharger unit. Off topic does slowfiveoh mean slow 5 liter ford or slow cops?

I was wondering what kind of parts I would need in order to supercharge a car effictively and cheaply. What kind of power gains should I expect? It would probably be on a 270-280hp V8. Could I also supercharge a V6? What kind of power gains there? I saw this topic and thought it was a perfect oppertunity to ask this. Thanks :)

Superchargers need way less parts then a turbo setup.
Basically all you will need will be the actaul supercharger, its pulley
and a new belt if its a roots type blower. And of course a little computer work.

What kind of car are you refering to? I can help you out more if you tell me the kind of car.

I think Jackson Racing makes a bolt-on supercharger for that car...

supercharger and a better torque converter (if you got auto tranny)

girls may love body kits, but everyone respects a sleeper.

take a look at the prices between the two. i don't know the exact prices of each of the things Mustang Lover is comparing, but as an outside source, wouldn't a supercharger be like twice the cost of the body kit? to do a supercharger right requires tons of parts and TUNING which is bank as well. a body kit's a body kit, and would probably be less than 1500 painted and installed, even buying it from the dealers. a supercharger done right would run you over 3000 wouldn't it?

Supercharger, first power, then looks. Or do you want a ricer?

Supercharger. It's just much more fun to make a car very fast, and do just little changes to the body.
For example:
A friend of my father had an old Audi 80. He tuned it completely and did no changes to the body. When he was racing against a Porsche he won.

I was wondering what kind of power I could get of a Lexus SC300/400. 220hp/250hp I think. V6/V8. I own the prelude but what could I get out of an SC? Most SC's with turbos can get 500+hp and with TT's its 650+hp. So I wanted to compare.. I know the obvious.. its just the details that I need to know.

Not really.................................. But I would go first with superchargeing then maybe a Svt Cobra R body kit. But wann know whats else? is that its a Automatic! and I am planning to supercharge it. and that car is reallly really nice and it excellerates like nothing!!!!! and its really good! Ricers do not really turn me on the only ones that do are the Honda Civic SI type R and the Acura RSX type R and S also there could be more but those are the ones.

I think speed is much better than looks...definately go with the supercharger!

IMO i've seen plenty of cars on the road and most cannot even touch a gt mustang. so im kind of torn up myself about a body kit and a supercharger. Why dont you just upgrade pistons or header - something on that line instead of getting a supercharger? you would feel some good power from just upgrading parts on the car. if a supercharger costs as much as 3k, i would suggest upgrading other parts and just lower your gt. but if i were you i wouldnt make a sheep in wolf's clothing if you get what i mean (no cobra stuff unless u got a cobra or worthy of cobra performance)

mx3woodbury

Ya, upgrading other parts can be good and bad. They are sometimes cheaper but for some people like me, its hard to put that kinda stuff in the engine. Im not saying a supercharger isn't hard to put in the engine but some of those other parts can get pretty hard to put in your car.

if you have the looks and not the power what sense does it make to have a bodykit, make sure you put a supercharger on...race for money then earn a bodykit

First, you always want to finish your motor work before you touch the body. Even if you have a shop do the motor work, you'll end up with some kind of scratches or swirl marks all over the front of your car, so it would be nice to put a fresh coat of paint on AFTER you have the motor done. Also, I'd recomend the ATI Procharger for a GT. The 2v motors are quite a bit more torquey than a cobra motor, and the centrifugal blowers are much better up top than the roots type, which is exactly where your GT lacks power. Just my two cents, but hope it helps
