What the *** is up with that? I mean, when have the French won anything by themselves? I am really mad. If Montoya hadn't gotten disqualified in Canada and Villneuve hadn't forced him to crash last week this wouldn't have happened.How do yall feel about Renault?

I mean, when have the French won anything by themselves?

What kind of idiotic comment is that?

Anyway, I think Renault deserve it - anyone who wins anything without cheating deserves what they get. They were superior to Mclaren-Mercedes, perhaps not in raw speed, but in reliablity and had the consistency to keep up with the rest of the bunch. And good to see Fisi back in form over the past few events, to boost Renault's advantage.

Congratulations Renault, you really deserve it.

Agreed, Renault did a spectacular job this season. Everyone talks about how the Mclaren car was faster, therefore better. Problem is, it had crappy reliability. So in my eyes, the car that is nearly as fast but is more reliable, is better. So good job Renault, Alonso, and Fisichella.

i agree with the fact that renault was more reliable. it seems like McLaren needs to fix their drive shafts and hydraulics. those two problems took them out of four races. but you can't say renault is better, because who won more races? i just wish that montoya could have taken advantage of the situation in Canada.

Alsonso won more races that Kimi....

Renault was a 3 time world champion in late 90's 1995-96-97 i believe, so its not like they just popped out of no where.

No not at all, its just people like you get mad because someone else one and begin threads like this saying that kimi is a much better driver than alonso, and that mclaeren is better than renault....

and to be honest if their that good they would have won. simple as that

by the way Kimi and Alonso both had 7 wins. I never said alonso wasn't really good. he is. i just don't like Renault. McLaren also won a toal 10 races, while Renault won 8. their problem was reliability. they had 5 DNF due to mechanical issues. Renault had 3. McLaren also needs to work on their aero package. If you watched the Japan Grand Prix you saw the problems Kimi had when drafting.

In 12 of the 19 races a McLaren had the fastest lap.10 were kimi. Renault had 3. 2 were alonso. Renault and Alonso were more consistent though. it was a good season dominated by McLaren and Renault. The only one one of them didn't win was the one neither team participated in. US Grand Prix, due to tire safety concerns.

Mclaren had the fastest lap in 12 races, but they only won 7, further proving my point that faster does not necessarily mean better.

They were only engines suppliers for the teams that won and it was in 1992 93 94 95 96 97.

Renault=gay.
Alonso=st00pid lucky SOB.
Montoya=unlucky
Kimi=Unlucky
F1 Regulations=St00pid.

Add those up, you get Renault winning constructors and Alonso winning the championship.

I have no idea how many times I have said this, ALONSO SUCKS!

You know, nobody likes losing. I mean, from the start, I was pushing McLaren Mercedes. They were my team. But they're second in both championships, so I mean that's pretty damn good considering their performances last year and the year before. They have some excellent drivers and fast cars. However, they need to work on realiability. They'll do excellent next year. Renault better watch out.

As for Renault, they deserve it. I think I'd be a poor sport if I said the French suck. The team is run by an Italian, and the driver who won is Spanish. They did good, but it's not going to last. They're going to have some serious competition next year.

So Renault, you did good and you should enjoy your time on top now, cause it's not going to last for long.

Agreed, it probably won't. I get the feeling that Mclaren will have worked on its reliability by next season, and with BMW and Honda teams now, it should make a very close, and interesting season. I can't wait.

Renault desrve to win.And by winning both champonship you can't really question it.BTW...Alonso did have a 16 sec lead before the safety car came out.Alonso's advantage was being 'robbed' from him TWICE.And still he emerge as Champion.Lucky.....I don;t think so.Good driver...Yes he is.Unlucky for Montoya.LOL.

the reason i don't like Renault is their cars. the first Renault i ever saw was the Megane and i thought it was one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. on the other hand McLaren has the F1, Probably one of the best looking street cars in recent memory.

^^give them a chance noone on this forum..or anywhere in the world..can possibly say renault have done badly...now...can they? i can't see how they have. they were there when they needed to be. you might say oh but kimi had bad luck otherwise they wouldn't have won...but the only way you can win a race is to be in second when the 1st place person crashes...
