I have been looking into it and I realized, that the MR2 is an AWESOME car, because it has amazing looks, styling that can slice through the air, and a tuneable engine. It has an optional turbo, putting out 200hp out of a 2.0liter mid-engine drivetrain. With an upgraded turbo kit you can easily get up to 300+ hp and get in the low 12's to high 11's (this thing only weighs 2800lbs). Oh, and BTW, manual is stock! :twisted: Tell me what you think. :)

I do not like the MR2 that much. There is a Yellow one around the corner on the next street of my house and every time I see it I hate it even more. You need allot of work done to the body to make that an attractable car for me :D

For anyone who likes the newer version better: Ok, so its less aerodynamic, the chassis hangs down, 5spd is standard, and the best performance you can get is 138 hp. Why would anyone like this car more ? :?

MR2 is one of those quetly marketed, but really high performing cars that like slaying giants with a flick of the clutch. 8) Kinda the same thing with the Pontiac Fiero, but those are definitly MUCH lower quality and were an American car, so they were of course axed only after a few years of production. Small mid-engine mounted things like the MR2 handle like crazy and the SW20 had an excellent stock engine. The Newer MR2 handles like you'd expect a Ferarri to, but the engine is simple blah. They definitly need to get more out of that 1.8 I-4. I like the radical looks of the newer one as well as the SW20's. You will never see anything like it on the road! Very sweet cars, very reliable, very tunable, very bad ass :mrgreen:

Ok, well I love the 300zx TT but heres a comparison. Ok. So the 300z has 300hp with TTs. That thing is hella fast. I mean it goes 165mph stock and keeps you pinned to the seat the whole time. Imagine 100 more hp, 500lbs lighter and a more aerodynamic body. Now do you see why I like it? 8) BTW, I a most likely going to buy a 93 ' 2 Turbo and mod it. I finally made my descision . :D

Give me the older version any day of the week.

agreed, i like the older more than the new. like i said in many different posts, i think the early 90's japanese cars do kick [censored]. My boy just bought a 91 or 92 MR2, he likes it better than the BMW M3 he test drove.
