This is by far the most gorgeous vw yet and the engine...whooa! The price is the only draw back to this car

I think overall its a good car - but when you pay 50K for a car, you want more than that!
You have the option of a W12, or a diesel V10, so its good when it comes to engines. But Id have an M5 (different sort of car i know, but still) or and A8. VW really just lack 'class'.

Have you actually sat in there.........it's classier than most rich people :wink: , actually, it's the same problem as always with most people, they first look for the name, then they go for the actual product.

It's not supposed to compete with 7 series or S-Class in driving dynamics, but as for luxury, it handles out pretty well, you could put an Audi insignia in the front and dont even notice the difference

undeerneath they are very similar cars yes, but there's no denying that if you are buying a car at that price, you'll take a Audi over an Austin - the name does matter.
The people that buy the VW are more likely to just want a subtle elegant car (that goes 200mph) over the flasier S class e.t.c..

The Phaeton cannot go 320km/h!! It can only go about 250 or something...

hmmm i cant find any reference to it now on the internet. I remember seeing on UK TV, the phaeton and saying it could do 200MPH, it wasnt released at the time, so maybe it wasnt production. :?

i was talking to jimkk29 ... that the phaetom have a limiter and if you dont remove it you cant get to 320KM/h ....

No way, that's Lambo Murcielago's top, and believe, it's not easy to get there with the AERODINAMICS of the Murcielago, you need an 8-10 mile oval at least, and the guy who achieved 311km/h had to close mirrors and airvents, the cars was pushing but you need a hell lot of space

The CL55 AMG reaches 250Km/h, without the limiter it reachs 301km/h, but there is another limiter just there, the power is not the problem, it's all about stability

Actually, I see the Phaeton as and offering from VW that will set the company even more solidly as the best manufactuer ever. The car has the most amazing engine concept I've ever seen, 12 cylinders in the space of wehre a common 8 would be able to fit with amazing fuel economy for the size. The build quality will be VW quality, comfortable, practicle, reliable in every way, and sporty/powerful enough to beat almost anything in it's pricerange. I find it's looks the best of anything(besides Audi). It appleals to almost everyone I would think.

Hehe, I know many of you have diffrent ideas of who might be the best car company ever, but I see VolksWagen as the premier auto manufactuer. Affordable, powerful, now with something in every class: the Touareg, the Phaeton, and insanely awesome Veyron coming to market in the near future. coming onto the market. you need a car? The people at VW have something for you that is a German Gem of a car to fit your every need. Pound for pound, the best automobile line up ever 8)

okay, I migth have gotten a little long winded there and overlooked soemthing pretty important. If one is looking for a slick sports coupe, you're not gonna find one in the VW house unless they bring the Carrado back (everyone please write letters everday to VW begging and pleading for this to happen :wink: ). Look at Honda and Nissan for a S2000(drool) and the 350Z(drool) respectively for incredible cars that cost tens of thousands less than German Boxter and Z4s 'shlop'. Otherwise, I stand by my story :roll:

i dont really know if the number is totally right ..
but i know i had a ride in a A6 4200 Quattro ... not an RS6 but a regular A6 ....
we reached 280 km/h ... without any problems at all ....
so i guess a 6000 would do better ....

Raith83, you are right, but you shouldn't consider the Veyron as a VW car... I know it belongs in the group, but it's Bugatti.
For me, VW cars are those who wear the VW symbol on their front mask (not Audi, Seat, Bugatti etc). :D

Very true, but I consider one make product lines, like the new Mini? Thats BMW car as far as I'm concerned. What else is there int he Mini line up? Nothing. When the Lotus Elsie comes over to the States, I'm thinking, it's a GM car, it's got a GM engine in it, and theres no other Lotus cars sold here. Thats just kinda me being stupid i suppose.

You're right about the mini, because it's totally constructed by BMW. But the Elise here in Europe is 100% Lotus. Lotus chassis, Lotus engine, all Lotus. :)

the version will be called R60 ... it will have a 12V 6 liter engine ... from the known engine of the bentley which produces 568HP (in the bently)
VW will add twin turbo chargers which will get it to over 600Hp ..
and this will be the fastest WV ever :) :twisted: :twisted:

still - give me a brabus S V12 before a VW.

by the way the Brabus is a tunned Benz.. while the R60 is WV's with no tunning company ! ... i think this means something too ... :roll:
