I think that it was totally stupid and ugly.. IMO the mustang only existed from 1965-1969, then from 1996-2005 (new one is really nice looking). To me, everything inbetween was just a lame wanna-be. :roll:

I hate to break it to you but the Mustang pictured there is a V8 302ci (5.0L). Yes, at the time they did make an 88hp 2.3L 4 cylinder, but not in that body style. In stock trim, that car is probably the 220hp, 300lbs.-ft engine, depending on the year. With not too many Mods those cars ran fast. With proper modification, it's not uncommon for them to run in the 8's.

So to anybody who wants to knock the 80's Fox-body 5.0's, guess what? They're twenty years old now and they'll still smack the hell out of almost any Honda on the road.

For one a stock LX ran mid to high 14's. The gt was low 15 to high 14 with a good driver on a good day. The GT's pay off was much better handling over the LX. Increased weight due to suspension components and extra gt bodywork was the difference between the LX and GT. For two there are many street legal 8 second mustangs which you cant say about alot of cars. Ronnie Wilson and Erica ortiz Lugo's cars are just two of them. There's an entire street renegade class full of them. Btw 3.73's, exhaust andan intake willdip you damn near into the 13's. The killer thing on the mustangs is the e7te heads suck and flow like crap. AFR or TFS heads really open them up.

Btw the first mustang had a 190 6 cylinder mated to a C3 tranny. Isthe original not a mustang because it had a 6 cylinder?
