Most of us know that the 'new' Pontiac GTO is a moderatley modified Holden Monaro. What does Ford have to compete with this? Well, in Australia its already being made! The Australian branch of Ford makes a sweet car known as the Falcon and I don't see why Ford doesn't pull a copycat move and try to steal some of those GM sales away. It should be a dead ringer! Comeone guys! We need more V-8's. I wanna hear the thunder from down under. 388 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Bring the muscle cars back you stingy bastards! One sweet Mustang coupe
isn't cuttin it for me anymore :p

It's cool, but I would definitely prefer sth less American-like...

BTW, this should really be in American Cars, cause Holden, HSV etc are actually american cars (Ford).
Same goes with the truck topic too.

They are Australian cars! Even if GM does own Holden and Ford is an American company, these cars are sorely being missed here  If they were sold here at all I'd put them in the Ameican Cars forum

They might be sold only in Australia, but they don't actually represent the Asian spirit, if ya know what I mean... Just think how different they are from Hondas, Toyotas etc...
They totally have american philosophy.

Oh, I know the large majority of these topics are about Japanese cars and the like, but it also includes anything in the Pacific Ocean  See? It's still as small a forum as the Americn Cars with Japan + Australian cars being talked about. I'd be too much to make another forum just for Australian cars.

Unlike the Monaro the Falcon only comes with 4 doors....
And in Austrailian racing the Holdens beat up on the poor Fords.:-)
Still I kinda like it, although the Holden HSV Monaros are much cooler.

Actually, in Australian racing Ford actually the 2003 V8 supercar championship. The new model 'BA' Falcon Race Car is a dramatic improvement over the last racing model.
The Falcon GT and GT-P are direct competitors for the HSV Clubsport, R8 and GTS. Not really the Monaro. The Monaro is just a Commodore V8 with two doors ripped off. Ford Australia doesn't produce a direct Monaro competitor.
And a small point: Monaros aren't HSV they're just Holdens. HSV makes a similar GTO-coupe which is a lot better (but more expensive) than a Monaro.
