Despite almost no engine modifiactions at all, the Saleen N20 Focus is, in my opinion, the best looking Focus ever. I've always liked Saleen styling, and now they've applied it to an already slick car. The main goal of the N20 Focus was t keep it affordable, so they have only dropped three upgrades under the hood that yeild little to no improved performance. The idea is to have the car ready for craaaazy Nitrous power. As far as my mind goes, Nitro is for lazy people  Just for the wicked cool style though, the Focus N20 is an awesome ride.

no question that I'd tune it to at least 230-260 hp and just as much torque if I ever laid my hands on one.

It is okay, I prefer the RS. The Saleen has to much body cladding and stuff all over it for my tastes. Saleen has a habit of putting lots of "stuff" on the cars body though.

To each their own I guess....

at a million times the price unfrtunetly.

I personally dont like the saleen focus - something doesnt look right to me :? The spoiler really doesnt seem to belong on the focus.

Concept Focuse Cosworth was the best looking focus IMO.

Well the RS8 concept is almost identical to the RS...

Yeah, the Saleen is front wheel drive. Here

"If you read through the list of Saleen modifications to the Focus’s 2.3-liter, all-aluminum, double-overhead-cam, 4-valve-per cylinder, 4-cylinder, you’ll find a Saleen performance air filter and a Saleen performance center exhaust system on the list. At the bottom of the list are the following three words: nitrous compatible elements. Basically this is shorthand for an engine that will come “nitrous ready” with everything you need to melt the front tires except for a full nitrous bottle, the main hose to the engine and a couple of jumpers to hook up the wiring."

So it's like 150 hp, 150 lb-ft of torque, and that's that. It's got hyped up brakes, hyped up RACECRAFT suspension, an insane list of interior customizations, and of course all of the body modifications. For a Saleen Focus? It's gonna cost $25k. That's $11k over the price for the ZX3 it's based off of, but I think it's a hell'o'va deal. European design comin' to American shores for some Saleen lovin'.

the cosworth had the chance of being 4WD which would have been amazing

i think it woulda been cooler if they hadn't made it N2O ready, and for god's sake CALLED it the N2O. i agree with raith that nitrous is for lazy ppl. lazy and boring ppl. lazy and boring ppl who don't like engines to last very long. i bet saleen realized all these kids out there hooking up nitrous and destroying their engines and said "i'm sick of this. let's make a car that lets these kids do it RIGHT."

I dont know what happened to old man Saleen, a car with lots of appearance mods and no thch involved. What the hell. The tires look bad, the arches are nice looking but the fenders dont look nice for me, the spoiler sucks, and why a hood scoop if not fored induction?

I would get an 14k ZX3 and the Vortech blower plus minor mods, that would be like 20k and 220hp 190lbft at the wheels. Not bad in my book, with the 25k i would upgrade suspension tires and brakes, and i would have a nice sleeper.

Thats just me, noway i would get the unfunctional non practical Saleen, better get a 2.0 ZX3 and call to Vortech for some power.

I don't know twhy they have hold up the Cosie all this time, but it will be there in the next body still ripping some Evo times and ahaming big block engines, the bad part. Europe only. The SVT is dead in US, a 155hp ST Sedan will be available soon, but nothing else now. in Europe on the other hand, the next focus 2.0 will make 145hp (same as US 2.3), the ST170 will become ST200 with a ligh pressure turbo, an 2.3 NA 230hp engine will become the powerplant for the RS, 8500rpm max developed by cosworth. and the RS Cosworth focus will make from 270 to 300 no official numbers yet. Either a 2.0 2.2 l4 or the 300hp T5 engine are possibilities, and stripped down to the basics for lightweight, AWD monster brakes and even racier suspension.

This is how an Extreme Focus should be

http://www.supercars.net/PicFetch?pic=2003_ford_focus_rs_wrc-1.jpg

If there was an streetable one, with the same power i would pay up to 70k for that car (i'm a ford freak, and if i had 70k i could have a lot more so i would not mind)

The Saleen Focus is basically a regular Focus with a body kit and maybe some suspension mods. Nothing special.

The Saleen Focus is basically a regular Focus with a body kit and maybe some suspension mods. Nothing special.

it's alot more than that, it's totally modified with all these things:

Air Management Design
Saleen design urethane front fascia
Saleen design urethane side skirts
Saleen design urethane rear fascia
Saleen fender flares
Saleen bi-plane rear wing
Saleen hood scoop

RACECRAFT Suspension
Saleen variable rate front and rear springs
Saleen N2 front shocks
Saleen N2 rear shocks
Saleen front sway bar and pivot bushings
High performance Pirelli tires 215/45ZR17 (Front) 215/45ZR17 (Rear)
Strut tower brace
Saleen valve stem caps
Saleen aluminum alloy wheels 17” x 7” front and 17” x 7” rear
Saleen high performance wheel alignment and tuned chassis

STYLING & INTERIOR
Saleen sport cloth seats
Saleen speedometer white faced gauges
Saleen performance driving pedals
Saleen close ratio shifter
Saleen trim accents
Saleen shift knob
Saleen N2O graphics and identification
Saleen windshield graphic

I think also that the RS looks way better then this one, it doesn't look special to me. I've seen more better looking tuned Focus'

Fine, if they had the RS here I'd have to look into it. But such is not the case, it's in American Cars for a reason :P

Yes but this is a lot more expensive than a ZX3 or an SVt, i'd get a new/used SVT, bolt on the Vortech Blower, and that is enough for 246fwhp, thats a lot more for less, you can even get a 190fwhp ZX3 for like 19k with the Vortech.

Power is not enough. You could never achieve the balance and the suspension settings of the RS. The RS also has a front LSD. It's so perfectly balanced car that some ppl tried to tune it and the tuned one was actually worse than the stock. Congrats to Fords (German) engineers.

This is strange. I had one word that came to my mind when i saw this car. Poppycock. How strange is that? I've never said that word ever. Why would i say this? Cause thats the only word to discribe this. $24,000 for special suspension, a funky body kit and an engine set up for an illegal nitrous system? Why. If i pay $24,000 for a focus, i'd expect it to have at least 200hp. To me, this is the ultamite in crappy focuses. I've seen alot of overdone body kits with huge quard foil wings and big gaping front bumper and stupid wheels. This car is a joke, and worthy of the title poppycock.

Never is not the expression but i understand your point. BUT actually every focus out there (even the 90hp 1.4 sedan) are pretty entertaining on the twisties. i'm pretty sure scheduling a test drive will prove my point, try that for any focus, from a 1.4 to a TDCi sport or ST170 wagon, whatever you try even the MPV, they are pretty cool to drive on back roads.

The ST170 handles really good too, and while power is not enough, the SVT (or ST170) will gladly handle the added oomph, you will only need better rubber if you wanna race and you can get a Quaife LSD for $200us.

So for me, the RS, but if i can't get one and i cant get and SVT or ST170, give me a ZX3 or a Sedan, i'll go for the Vortech, FK Coilover kit, Steeda shifter, Bassani exhaust and Brembos, that would be a bit less than the Saleen with better power, better handling (even better than ST170), and you could save some money to "TUNE" the focus in the style you want (i wouldnt do too much unless i get a saloon)

I know I know I understand your point too, but it's just that the RS is the best Focus ever (and probably the best small FWD car ever). I mean, it is ALOT different even than the ST170, and you would really need alot of work to make a ST170 feel and drive like the RS. Don't take me wrong though, I would be begging to have even one ST170. Hell I'l even be satisfied with a 1.6 (3 door) for my personal usage! :D
Trust me, it's too bad that you don't get the RS over there... I also love the fact that it is very limited production (only 4501 built).
