Presentation of the Audi R10 “Live” on the Internet
World Premiere of the new Audi race car in Paris
"Live" broadcast on www.audi.de (http://www.audi.de) and www.audi.com (http://www.audi.com)

The Audi R8 wrote motorsport history for six long years winning 61 from 77 races it contested – five of them at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its eagerly awaited successor is now raring to go: the Audi R10.

There has already been a great deal of speculation concerning the new Audi sports car in the media. One thing is certain: Because of its new technology and numerous innovative details, the R10 is one of the most ambitious projects ever to have been implemented at Audi Sport.

On 13 December, the R10 will be presented to media representatives from all around the world in the city centre of Paris. The presentation and the following press conference can be followed "live” via the internet: From 12:00 noon onwards a video "live” stream from Paris will be available at www.Audi.de (http://www.Audi.de) and www.Audi.com (http://www.Audi.com). The direct link to follow the broadcast will be www.Audi.de/R10 (http://www.Audi.de/R10).

It looks really nice, any specs about the engine?

Only that it's a V12 Diesel.

More stats wil emerge when it's unveiled to the world today.

But what will be most intriguing is if the R10 can retain the reliability of the outgoing R8.

"Audi is not gonna win anylonger i think." - That was the point of it. But it'd be too boring.

^Yeah 2000 entrys of "Prawned" from me. Prawn is some fish. - Bigger shrimps. But it's a part of the modern language nowadays. Yeah it's the rappers fault.

In this story Tom hanks is saying "STFU B4 i Prawn both of u!" instead of "Pwn"

Anyone who says that engine looks sweet has never looked at the engine of a race car. I see twenty dozen places to leak. If it has a BIG fire bottle, the driver might survive.

Of course, if the driver is Tom Kristensen, he won't need no "steenking" fire bottle. He's Superman. Does he wear a Rolex?

Damn the Bentley he was driving in 2003 had number 7. So everyone was being just superstitious about how he would beat the R8s because of the number.

But fu*king hell! - He did it.:smt023

First, the car's looks are dictated by the ACO's rules in major part. Most prototypes look just about the same with the most recent rules (as in F1 !).

Second, if they kick everybody's *** (and I think they will...) diesel engined cars will invade the world like alien species in movies and then pedestrians will never be able to talk together again at traffic lights because all those diesel cars with their loud clap-clap-clap sound will cover their voice and anyway with the coughing due to the diesel fumes they wouldn't be able to talk anyway...:p

P.S. no i'm not drunk...:D

He's right. Whenever I get in a taxi (here in greece they are diesel powered) i get irritated by the engine sound. Plus they make some black clouds from their exausts...

A: going to dominate aslong as porsche doesn't kick it's ass

Response to A.
I doubt Porsche is going to kick it's ass. The Spyder is a great car(because it comes from the same group as Audi, Bentley etc...), but it couldn't beat a restricted R8. I doubt Audi would put a car out there that would lose to a P2 car

B.
Yes the car is rough looking unfortunately, but like someone already said the looks are pretty much dictated by the ACO

But a lot of newer diesel powerd cars arn't that bad when it comes to smell and noise. But they will probable never be as good as petrol.

In that case it need a second danish falg on the roof. Otherwise i would get pissed.

The heavily restricted R8 went faster than that this past year. If Audi were to throw a car out that poor then they really shouldn't compete in motorsports anymore. They have to put a car out that is comparable to the R8 and they'll do just that. Personally I'd love to know where car lover got those numbers from.

Tom Kristensen
Dec 25, 2005, 12:38 PM
Audi can still compete in Motorsport. They won last year only because of luck. And because Tom kristensen was in the car, two hours more than allowed.

Yes Audi can still compete, I didn't say they couldn't, just that if they put a car out there with the "correct numbers" that Carlover gave us (which he's yet to tell us where he got them from or give us a source) that wouldn't be any threat to GT2 cars, much less it's own class then they shouldn't. I don't buy those numbers.

Do you mean Tommy drove 2 hours longer than Marco and JJ, because the #3 would've been disqualified from the race for going overtime with the drivers.

An Audi racecar engine has never blown up in a race before. - Who can inherit that glory!?

He's wearing a Rosendahl Tom Kristensen Le Mans watch. - Damn i'm gonna get one of those.

Do you mean Tommy drove 2 hours longer than Marco and JJ, because the #3 would've been disqualified from the race for going overtime with the drivers.I ain't sure. Tom came in the car around noon. The maximum time allowed is 4 hours i think... Meh. So he didn't drove more than allowed:confused:. I just read somwhere that his last stint was longer than the maximum limt.
