i've been interested in this series for a while, and supposedly they televise it around the world, not just in Japan. they're also "supposedly" having a leg in southern california this year, as well as in korea, seoul, and china. last year the Xanavi Skyline GT-R won the GT500 class, and the GT300 class was won by the Endless 350Z. i personally love this series because i love the cars in it. but i think the class breakdown is a huge lie. (GT300 and GT500 meaning 300 hp and 500hp... there are NSX's, ferrari 360's, and 911 GT3's in the GT300, and i don't think they stayed around stock hp for these machines...)

anyone else have any thoughts on this racing series?

I would be really interested to watch it too, but unfortunately it isn't broadcast here. :cry:

Yup I watch it, the GT300 cars are kept to near stock levels by using restrictors in the intakes....but most of them have well over 375-400 hp....but the GT500 cars can make upwards of 550 hp.

I've never heard about it before, but it sounds real great to me.

yeah. that's why it's the Japan Grand Touring Championship. although i really hope their speculation about having a leg in california comes true, i'd like to attend.

and i think the the impreza's in the GT300.
and they also have a lambo in the GT500 which brings in more of a variety of cars into the mix instead of just japanese cars. they also have BMW's, silvia's, and celica's in the GT300, as well as some more obscure cars like the Vemac, Mosler, and Garaiya.

Although some overseas(exclude JAPAN) cars join the racing ,Japanese cars win the championship unvaryingly in the GT500.
The winner in the past,the Posche GT3's is very hard in GT300 because the Ferrari 360's and Toyota MR-S etc.

the JGTC is my life when it's on. Such great racing. They fight dirty though. I saw 2 supras gang up on one skyline and box him out. And as they passed the skyline, they tapped his front fender just to say "hey, we're better then you, and we can do anything we want". But the skyline won anyway because the supra got gready and smashed into a MR2 in the final turn or something cause the skyline had the inside. Either way, it's still good racing. and the cars are cool too.
