Straight from motor trend magazine. Vette has a pushrod V8 with 2 valves per cyl.

The cobra is a much better deal. 35k for a car that with a simple pulley swap from ford (lightning pulley, $100.00) will make over 430rwhp on pump gas. The Cobra also comes with possibly the strongest bottom end straight fromthe factory then any car since the JZ series supra. Not that you can even compare those two. There are guys running over 600hp to the rear with mild modifications. Dont believe me?

Just look at some of the rides there. The new cobra is simply an incredible car. I like the vette too in a major way, but no WAYdoes it compare with the Cobra in bang for buck and ease of modification.

I'd get neither. Instead, even it really isn't in the same class, a Lotus Elise. A couple tenths slower in a straight line, but it would absolutely destroy both of them on a track. All three are convertibles, so they sort of compare. And similar prices. $40k for the Lotus.

The Vette can get a easy power boost too.
BUT bottom line, a Mustang will NEVER handle like a Vette.
So Vette here, no questions asked!

They are man.It says in the poll to state which other car you'd own other then those two. Personally any of the other cars stated will never be up to par with the Vette especially, and certainly dont have the power capabilities of the mustang. But hey we'll just keep that bit of knowledge to ourselves. :D

I didn't notice that either, my bad.
And compared with these 2 cars a 350Z is under-powered.

350Z is chronically underpowered...it'll be right when the Japanese supercar invasion finally arrives with the V8s...it'd be coo if GM brought back the F Body for that too.

ummmm i guess you dont know many pushrod engines there.
Anyway who cares about how many valves as long as power is there, and the Vette has really got some.

Ok, What about 2000 Z06 vs 2000 Cobra R, the Cobra R was far better at the track. And still in a fox platform, you are to skeptic, the current Cobra actually handles pretty good, great grip, and good overall balance, far better than stock f-bodies.
Never say the word NEVER, you could get some bad surprises................soon (j/k to each it's own)  (we need a more EVIL grin smiley)

Ummm you keep forgetting that the Cobra R was limited edition car that only a certified driver could even buy. And it drove like a truck, I HAVE driven one.
A Cobra is NOT a good BALANCED car, I've read that many times. Why do you think all the top 5 finishers in the SCCA run-offs (factory cars) in the pony car class weren't Mustangs, they were Camaros and Firebirds. The Cobra R is a good car, but I think a regular Cobra is a better car money wise, the new 03-04 Cobra is quicker then a Cobra R too.

You made some points, but Camaros are darn harsh too, and many reviews i read noted how the car was not so harsh being so capable (what i read) and with those springs.
What year Camaros/Mustangs are you talking about, i know Camaros are better at track, i dont know for the latest Cobra, but it's pretty good from what i read, may not be an all out racer but is very balanced. How many Firebirds/Camaros ran there, and how many Cobras (no point counting GTs)

Camaro stock springs are not that stiff, I have actaully upgraded mine. The 98-02 SS model Camaros are the ones I was refering to. It had about 45 cars, I'd say it was pretty much 50/50.

50/50? like half stangs half f-bodies?
Still, i'm a bonehead or something, you can't really convince me, i love f-bodies, specially WS6 Firebirds and IROC Camaros, but i love the Cobra and the new mustang, so i'ts kinda helpless.
Anyway, i know your facts are straight  , whatever i still think the Stang is better  matter of taste i guess
